You're probably right as I don't have any personal experience doing this. There's a television show called Extreme Cheapskates. A guy on one of the episodes made that recommendation. His wife did not like the idea so much.
I know...we're all learning I guess...in the end is that series serious or half and half? Perhaps it airs only in the states but it might be on a satellite channel over here..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Not unless you're a world class penny pincher. I'm just throwing around ideas. There are people who go to extremes and do these sorts of things. The guy I saw on Extreme Cheapskates actually did this. He sharpened his disposable razors to make them last longer.Popperwell wrote: »Maybe not good for the environment but I can buy 10 razors for 18p and they last me ages. I've only seen one episode so far. I know that most of what is shown on the telly (my British English for the day) is fake, but I know for a fact that one of the people appearing on the episodes was the real deal. The guy has written 2 or 3 books, even though it was never mentioned during the episode. I get the impression that these people are legitimate cheapskates. I'm sure some of it is staged as well, but I got the impression that these people are indeed extreme cheapskates.Popperwell wrote: »I know...we're all learning I guess...in the end is that series serious or half and half? If like me you drink alot of tea/coffee during the day try buying a thermal flask.
I fill the kettle first thing and fill the flask with the boiling water to use throughout the day rather than boiling the kettle all the time.
Its not a huge money saver but every little helps!!:DGc 2013 +26 -5. -4 -7 -14 -15 -10.-8.20 +15p+30+5.80 Dec +9 GROCERY challenge 2014 Jan -2Feb -3 March -1.50 April +5.40 May +4.90 June -3.July 16.50/85

About toilet roll- I learned recently that there aren't the same amount of sheets in every roll. What this basically means is that it could be a good thick roll and have a good thick ply but a lot of what is in it could be air and therefore not good value for money. There is an andrex one thats gold coloured and if you look at it you can see the spaces in the roll. Such bad value for money but just check the packaging- it tells you how many sheets you get.0

They should last me ages :-)"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

To remove make up with it I would wet a cotton pad/ball/flannel with a little water then dot a bit of cream on and rub in then use the pad/flannel to remove the make up.
When I worked for Body Shop At Home we were told to always use the make up remover/cleanser/toner products on WET cotton pads as you need a lot less so it lastes longer.
To shower with it I would just rub on by hand then rinse off.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500
