Soap saver = small bar-of-soap-sized pouch or bag, made from felt or old towelling, or knitted or crocheted. Pop in thos tiny last remnants of soap bars that are too small to use effectively, wet and rub, hey presto usable soapy suds!1

thanks airgead, makes much more sense than saving odds and ends for months then throwing them away because I can't be bothered to store the bits any more. A mobile phone case or even a no-longer-needed baby's cotton mitt or bootee would do the job0 -

I don't have one yet myself, I was reminded what a good idea it was in a sudden flashback to us having one when I was a kid! I think I have just the thing that will do nicely.... a toddlers odd sock!:j0 -

I use a coffee jar lid (deep and about 2 inches across). Drop all the bits of soap in and when full to the top (even a little over full), add a drop of boiling water. Put a heavy weight on top and leave for a couple of days. This makes a new tablet of soap which can look very pretty depending on the colours of the leftover bitsI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

I use an even more lazy method. Get new bar of soap and push old bit firmly into it. It sticks if both are damp. I do this when the last person has showered for the day giving it time to dry out till the next day.0 -
On Wartime Farm this week Ruth put all her little bits of soap into a towel, twisted it tight, dunked it in some hot water for a few minutes to soften then pressed it all together to make a new bar.Dum Spiro Spero1
