Buy 2-ply toilet paper, split the plies in half and you get 2 rolls for the price of 1.
Sorry Donnysan, but that's a fallacy. The first thing someone does when confronted with thin toilet paper is fold it over to make it thicker, thus preventing their fingers going through it. You'd be better off spending your time batch cooking pulses than wasting it splitting toilet paper into its component parts."Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. Aqueous cream is brilliant! Use it in place of soap or shower gel etc and moisturise with it afterwards for super soft skin! This is great for dry skin and works well on mild eczema too. A couple of quid for 500g from high street chemists, although I have found a non high street brand at a local discount store - 99p for 500g!
I completely agree, aqueous cream is brilliant! I used to pay £9 for a 50ml pot of face cream plus indiviual cleanser, face wash, make up remover etc. Now I buy a 500g pot of aqueous for £1 and use it for everything.
I feel sick when I think what I've spent on branded beauty products over the years and they're no better. If anything I was just paying for perfume and colourant that irritated my skin.0 -

These days many 2ply toilet rolls are really cheap and often buying unknown brands does not mean the quality is poorer and in some shops like Wilkinsons you often get get 3ply for the same price as the 2ply so even better. Now that could mean it lasting longer but you are not splitting toilet paper not that I ever have and I don't think I would consider doing so...
As you suggest PJ I suspect the paper would just fall apart...was that a serious tip do you think?"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Another advocate of aqueous cream, I used to use it when bathing 'my' ladies in the nursing home, my hands were always really soft afterwards so now I buy it for myself. My skin is really dry but aqueous moisturises it beautifully. Brilliant stuff0

With the greatest respect I take all of donnysan's idea's with a pinch of salt, some big, some small, but don't think I've seen what I consider to be a 'serious' money-saving one yet0 -
You're probably right as I don't have any personal experience doing this. There's a television show called Extreme Cheapskates. A guy on one of the episodes made that recommendation. His wife did not like the idea so much.PipneyJane wrote: »Sorry Donnysan, but that's a fallacy. Maybe not good for the environment but I can buy 10 razors for 18p and they last me ages. Is it worth trying to sharpen it."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
