What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Blimey, it's only been 24 hours since I've been here and there was about 7 pages to catch up on  thankfully kids are off school today due to polling, OH has manflu, so they are all staying at home so I don't have to wash or dress anyone (that'd be kids, not OH ;)), or make packed lunches....in fact decided to not even bother making myself anything, I'm going to try out the school canteen bagette (this could be a downward, very expensive, addictive spiral *rolleyes*

Sparkles, hope you are feeling better today, sorry I didn't manage to get online last night and update you with a big fat 3 :D

    DB, a big fat 3 please :D:D

    WB, great news :)

Right, better be off to get ready for work, I'm actually early today

Oh, another thing (can't remember if I mentioned it?), I was told last week that apparently I am a member of the SLT (senior leadership team) at work  which would mean that if all other SLT were out and something happened, then I'm in charge  (the fools *rolleyes*).....anyway, they are going to the pub tonight and invited me along  I HAVE to go, I need to get to know everyone well and this is an ideal opportunity to chat. I am going to start preparing myself now, I either need to drink a diet coke with slice of lemon and lots of ice or a orange juice and lemonade.....oh god

    Have a lovely day :)

Oh, DB, hope your knees are ok? xx

    Morning all,

Maman, well done for getting Merry in May!

Flimsier, sorry to hear you're not sleeping. Did you sleep well before you gave up? I find that I really resent the odd sleepless sober night but then remember that the reality for me was up at 3 or 4 am feeling dreadful when I did sleep. I just conveniently forgot how bad it was when I'm sober.

Jo, good luck tonight. This could set a really positive precedent with these people that you drink soft drinks in the pub. Good Luck!!

    Have a good Thursday everyone.

Flimsier, it does get better honest. The one thing I noticed was how well I slept being AF.
Jo I agree with WBF, set your standards.

Difficult. It took me a long time to realise whether I drank or not was no-one else's business, and that it is none of my business what other people think of me.
I have to remind myself of that daily as I believe I am very sensitive. I feel I was born with a layer of skin missing, and things that bounce of other people penetrate and hurt me.
I still struggle with my shyness and worry about other peoples' perception of me.

I can really relate to that GC.:T

I have my first counselling session today. I have had counselling before but this is a different kind. It's not meant to be about drinking just talking about things. I'm a bit anxious about it. Wish me luck!:)

    I hope everyone is okay.:A

Morning all, hope everyone is well. Aiming for another AFD but I seem to be all bad tempered and tearful this morning - hope that passes soon as I look a right idiot in work with red eyes.

Graeme - thanks for your response to my post. That message was perfect.

Have a good day everyone :)
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

Not doing another one as most of you can't be bovvered to try so only 28hours left on this one

Sparkles I have been trying but I didn't 'declare' myself for the challenge. Could I at this very late stage join? I seem to be managing Mon - Wed most weeks but Thursdays are more of a problem. For some reason I seem to think that the weekend starts with Thurs so I have a drink! If I knew I was part of the challenge so would have to 'report' I might do better.
My Merry total so far is 3.

There'll be no bandwidth left for Budgie at this rate    ;)

    :naughty::kisses3:

Well this will only be a quick post as I am feeling poo.

Sorry for this but, I am trying to get my head straight???

Tuesday I felt really, really good and full of motivation. Yesterday was a different story, Mr Budgie came up, was not in a good mood and the usual pattern started. (Him saying he wished that he could get a disease and die, etc, etc). By the time he went, I felt so flat and really quite ill. I actually went to bed at 7,30pm.

I stayed af though, so now I am in just a reflective mood and feeling a bag of nerves. I realise that he is ill and I understand that, but if I am not careful I will be ill too. I don't know what to do?

Sorry but I do feel very low. My Ds comes home today and I am not my usual excited self over that.

    Anyway enough depression from me.

Winebox hunny so glad the test was ok, but you are right, don't take it for granted and stay safe and well sweetheart. (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

115k good luck with the counselling sweetheart, I hope it helps? (()) xxxxxxxxxxxx

JO good luck tonight and take care. (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Sim well done mate and keep up all your hard work. (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Fay hope Ds exams go well and things get less stressful. (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

To you all hugs and take care, I have only skimmed so back off now to have a proper catch up.

    God Bless

    Morning,

I agree. Whilst falling asleep itself is probably easier whilst under the influence of drink, the quality of sleep you get is poor. I'm no doctor but I'd imagine it's because alcohol strongly affects your brain so when it's effects decrease throughout the night, your brain is actively trying to counter act for the imbalances that you would normally react to by having another drink if you were awake.

I got to sleep at about 1am last night, I was heading to sleep as early as 11pm because I kept nodding off whilst watching telly in bed but then I went to brush my teeth and that woke me up so I stayed up and watched Scum with Ray Winstone in it.

not the most relaxing of films, granted.

but hey ho, I got up at 8am and went to vote so I'm feeling quite the worthy citizen today and am going to stay AF today to make it 3 in a row.

    hope everyone's doing well!
    jusqu'ici tout va bien
