did a 13hr stint but good to be back in the thick of it. Did have moments where I almost break down in tears & had to hide to get over it but i guess that's just the way it's going to be for a bit.

Since I've stopped I have found that the law of unforeseen consequences has also been in action and I was wondering if its the same for any of you wonderful people.
Over the last month I have only had a half glass of champagne. Was never a tipple I particularly liked so it was not difficult to leave some in the glass.
But its the other things that have surprised me.
I have gone off coffee. I used to drink gallons of it very strong, esp in the mornings but recently don't want it at all. As I started not drinking(if that makes sense)I started to get headaches I thought it was due to the lack of alcohol, but in retrospect it might be the drop in my caffeine intake was well. Thats got to be a good thing health wise.
The bags and dark circles under my eyes have gone.
    I eat more healthily
I can watch the telly without falling asleep half way through a programme
I dont have to hid my emptys in other peoples recycling bins:o
I never drank during the day always in the evening /night but feel now that what ever I'm doing I can give it my full attention.
I'm able to do what I want to or needs to be done even if it a chore. I used to put off things like housework cos I had a drink.I once burned my hand really badly when my judgment was some what impaired.

More than anything else, I have found that focusing on the positives, the changes for the better rather than the negatives what I'm not doing is helping me to make this move away from my own self destruct button.

Sorry I'm wittering on but I just wandered if it is similar to other peoples experiences.

    :DHi all

Peedie Lots of great positives there well done you...I was thinking just now how usually if dh goes away (v v rare) like today I would normally have automatically got wine in as I don't like being on my own....then I would have been thinking all evening, when am I going to open it, then if I opened it when the kids were still up I would be less than useless at getting the stuff sorted that I need to at night...

I am another night af please Sparkles so think that makes me 4 (it feels good that I have been more af than not so far :D)

115k hugs hun, you sound really down, do you think the counselling might be helpful in the long run? I hope so for you, sorry to hear about bad stuff coming up....it is just so hard when you are in a rut drinkwise to break it, that 1st day is always the hardest...:grouphug:

Marru Sorry to hear about the shin splints, they sound painful hun, hope you are back to your usual fit self soon x

    I love Giraffes too :D
