Miss Piggy can I have 23 please?

Jo - you have been AF for fairly long periods in the past, can you remember what you did to achievet that, what has changed now that makes it more difficult for you? How can you replace what drink gives you? Bath, nice things to eat, studying, reading, anything? Are you thinking that you don't deserve your new job and want to push the self destruct button because of that? You are lovely lovely lady and you deserve the best I hope you can start to believe in that. Can you get counceling, perhaps try your GP as you should be eligible for 6 free session through your surgery. PM me anytime via here or FB.

    I second this.

So sorry to hear you are feeling like this Jo as Marru says can you establish the reasons why you want to drink, boredom, stress, loneliness, depression etc?

I used to spend the money i would have spent on drink on something completely self indulgent like a magazine i wouldn't normally buy (too dear!!) chocolate, whatever food you really like, a book ( as above- i always go to the library..) whatever.

Or you could get into your pyjamas after a bath and maybe you won't be ar5ed getting redressed later to go back out.

Or you could phone a friend or family member who can talk for ages on the phone.

Or you could go out for a walk. Or a cycle? A drive?

The couselling's worth a shot as well, i am sure your GP can refer you to someone suitable?

What did you do with your time before you started drinking?

What did you spend your money on?

At the end of the day you've done it before and you can do it again, maybe it's all just about getting your head around the idea of not drinking.

You could go to a meeting no strings attached.

Whatever you do just don't drink if you really don't want to

I find that after 2 days it gets much easier

Do you want to stop drinking altogether or just control it?

I hope some of this helps you tonight.

    Hope it wasn't too long!!

Good luck everyone on this forum will be thinking of you and wishing you well

Let us know how you get on

    :)

  • I agree with that. My partner essentially committed suicide...just took 15 years to do it.

Suicide by proxy i have often thought of that over the years....... and not a nice way to go

    Hi Miss P

Well I have now achieved 5 days AF this month, not brilliant but hope to make target by next Wednesday.:D

Hope all is well and Piglet liked the school. How is the glossing going?

Work colleagues all watched the footie and had Pims or beer this afternoon, felt really good as I had diet coke ( I was going to be driving so would not drink if I can help it). Having said that I did eat a lot of sausages and crisps ....oops:o

    Keep enjoying the sun
