    Morning all

Sim - good to hear things are sounding more positive for you

69chick - oh poor little thing, hope shes feeling better soon. Piglet had this when he was younger and it does panic them slightly (and cleaning thier eyes is a nightmare!

Jo - are you feeling better today?

This is my last day off work - back to normal tomorrow. Piglet off to nursery at 1pm so have a whole afternoon to myself...what to do, what to do!?:rotfl:

Stayed AF last night. Forced my lazy body onto the cross trainer thingy my OH got me. It was hysterical! Even more so when OH had a go. Its more of an air walker than cross trainer which involves having good body balance...something neither me or OH really excel in!!

Anyway, must get some washing on...make the most of the lovely sunshine we have today by getting it hung out.

    Speak later!

A really good article I thought.
I don't know how relevant it is to all of us, but a good read nonetheless

My face had been looking like a bloated red beach ball with piggy eyes and I was quite happily blaming it on cheap shampoo/the weather

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Glad you're feeling good though Pen!

This couple sound EXACTLY like my neighbours although he doesn't get drunk as frequently as this. The last time was New Year, & she took him back on condition he had some counselling (my "expert" advice - as I said to her at the time, even though he's not doing it very often it's still a problem...from the sound of how very ill he was, for days, I reckon he managed to give himself alcohol poisoning & was lucky to survive it) - needless to say he's not gone for any. I dread the next time cos he's SUCH a nice chap, & I'd be really upset to see them split up, also they have a son same age as my DD who was devastated by their New Year row.

I'm debating printing this article off to show her, but don't want to stir things up......

    Good Morning everyone,

Well, back from the weekend away and feeling fine.

Sparkles, I completed the last challenge 100% (couldn't post, no internet access where I was) and I'd like to join in this week's please.

DB I think that must make it 10 or 11 now in total????

I find it really helpful and as I didn't drink last night (but did on Friday and Saturday night) I'm on track.

This week I am going to get myself organised and be very concious of what I eat and how I spend my time (I'm a bit of a fritterer and never get enough done).

    have a good day

    Afternoon all,

Sparkels, I was AF last night no problems (keep fingers crossed) so that's one for me please.

very busy here at the moment but at least the sun had come out so I can do something in the garden.
    Trying to keep in budget.

Hmmmm - is it only me not out enjoying the sun?

I'm waiting for Mr T's to deliver my next 3 months' worth of stuff so staying near the phone as (unless it's someone who's been here before they can never find me).

Guess what? Not a drop of alcohol on board today! I've got the remains of the eponymous winebox (or is that me? :rotfl:) in the fridge but have decided (again...:o) to have an alch free house once that's gone. No idea how much is in there - it's "done" a couple of evenings but still feels quite heavy! Now, that is me! The rest of my wine delivery of 2 weeks ago is at OH's - time to re-instate my womo clause ref the drinking (for newbies - that was Lurks's phrase - means not drinking When On My Own!).

I do a massive online shop every 2 - 3 months to fill cupboards & freezers then just buy fridge stuff in between mainly from the farm shop. I reckon it saves me a bomb, & I can survive off my hump for weeks & weeks if the bomb drops!

Jo - where are you? Come & say hello, whatever you're up to......

    Please excuse my outburst -

My local 'Substance Misuse Support Team' are a !!!!ing joke!

Admittedly, I postponed 3 appointments last month.

The Social Worker then told me on the phone, about 3 weeks back, that she was leaving and another Support Worker (who I'd met at the initial assessment with said Social Worker originally) would be taking over.

I can never get hold of this girl!

After leaving a message with her colleague yesterday, and still not hearing from her today, I called her.

After taking my call, I asked her if she'd got my message yesterday..

"Yes, but I wasn't in the office yesterday" was her reply.

I said "OK. I realise that...Were you going to call me back today?" ...

"I've been in a clinic all day"

    Go figure!

This lady is great, but come on! There doesn't seem to be any 'continuity' or 'organisation' at all with this set up.

I kept calm, and politely said "It seems that we keep missing each other, what with you calling me and leaving messages, and me calling you, and I don't really want this to carry on, and for nothing to happen. I could really do with some weekly support."

Apparently, now, I've been passed on to a third 'Support Worker' there, and she's going to call me tomorrow.

I did my voluntary work at the homeless charity this morning, 9am - about 2pm, and it went well.

Helped out a couple, apply for housing help online. I had to learn as I went pretty much, but we got there eventually.

The couple I'd helped couldn't believe it, when I apologised for being a bit slow, and that "I've only been here 2 days". They thought I'd been there ages!

Anyway, I got their Housing application in, and there 'priority' is 'Gold' due to medical needs, so hopefully, they'll get some help sooner rather than later.

Went and treated myself to a Magnum ice cream afterwards, and then picked up something for dinner.

No booze. Been a week now :)

Just felt so frustrated, and angry at the attitude of this girl at the 'Substance Misuse' place.

I wondered, how on earth the homeless guys at the charity, cope when faced with such blatant ineptitude :-/

    Cheers - Sim x

    Afternoon all

 Winebox! Yes, been out enjoying the sunshine. Got lots of gardening up to date so I'm pleased (and knackered!). Good luck with having no alcohol in the house. Its always fatal to have any in mine...if its not there I'm not bothered. Wierd isn't it??

Sim - I wouldn't take it too much to heart about the substance misuse clinic. In my experience (I have a brother whos an alcoholic) these clinics are notoriously over-subscribed and under-funded. I think they have huge caseloads and probably feel they are fighting a losing battle sometimes. Hope you get a call from the support worker tomorrow.

Very proud of myself this afternoon. I have:

Dropped Piglet off at nursery at 1pm
Potted on my courgettes, peas, sunflowers, peppers, tarragon and geraniums
Planted up two 'half' baskets to go on garage wall
    Done Paul McKenna's CD (and...ahem...fell asleep!!:rotfl:)
    Been to the library
    Hoovered througout the house
Cooked OH's dinner and got ingredients ready for mine (stir fry)

Not bad for four hours work! Now I'm knackered and OH has just text to say he's still stuck in Gloucester so won't be home till at least 6.45. Wonderful! Never mind!

back to work tomorrow....I don't want to go!!

    Hey chaps

I hope you're all fine - another late on for me DD has concert - I'm doing some 'extra' gardening for a neighbour.

Means I won't get home til nearly 10pm again - which means driving which also means AF-ness.

I also like to try and not drink WOMO - love the shortening WB :)
