its been decided now that the lettering will be done in whatever colour everyone has left over from their main square, although lainzhasn't done a main letter square so when I get the squares I'll send out some of the 333 with hers I think

Help!! Please Help!!

I'm totally confused by the pattern!

Could someone please have a look at the chart for 'I' and help me understand what's going on with the peach, charted as quote marks [ " ].

1. I've had a close up look at Emzy's and Simac's finished pieces and can't see any half cross stitches, but it looks like there is on my elf's hands... can you see them? I think it's where the thumb would be, on both hands - is it a peach stitch there, a half, or not at all? It looks most like a half to me.

2. there's a bit on the hightest hand where there's no backstitching, but dont think that can be right? Should i just put it in anyway as it might look odd without?

3. at the elf's chin - is it one dark sea blue to the left, then one peach? OR is it 2 half stitches? as the top bit of the left one looks peachy. I'm finding it hard to tell some of the dark from the normal sea blue (filled in cresent moon / open cresent moon)... i think i need new glasses!

i printed it out twice, one smaller and more detailed, one bigger for counting but it's more fuzzy, and it's the same on both so dont think it's my printer.

Sorry about this. Any and all help greatly appreciated.

my fairy has some half stitches. I'd go with what you think looks right.

Hi 23rdSpiral.

I'm no expert (so you may be better waiting for 2nd opinions :rotfl:), but for what it's worth here is my 2 pence worth. . . .

1)I have blown up your letter I as big as I can on my screen and I would have read it as 2 1/2 stitches.

2)Again having blown up the picture to a ridiculous size, I can see a very small feint black line at the very top of the square like it is supposed to be there but they accidentally covered it up with the peach colour. If it was my square I would do a backstitch there, as like you said I think it would look odd without.

3)Ooh now that one is horrible! I've looked at it a few times, I read it as full stitches. I can't draw little moons on my keyboard so I've put below the blocks and colours. Hope it makes sense!!! This is the block of 9 squares starting on the row with the darker pink cheek. . .

Right Ive zoomed in on it and as far as I can see...

1, Yes they definitely look like half stitches..I think the reason the ones on my chart aren't is because the other half is 'in' something else (the strawberry) so I guess they were trying to make is so people didn't have to do 2 half stitches on the one square, if that makes sense?

2,Id do a back stitch there, I think its meant to go from the top left of the half stitch to the bottom right of the full cross below it

3, And exactly the same as what Simac said for the chin

Oops, not done any sewing for a couple of days..last night was a bit manic at work and came home in a tiz, with a splitting headache.

Been to work this morning too, so now thinking I might get some sewing done this afternoon. Didn't sleep much last night (asthma), so will not be fit for sewing this evening!

Will be posting piccies when I am done...whenever that is! Sorry for the delay folks.
