Hi, I'm posting for a friend of mine on here because since the 'server update' her account appears to be disabled.

No accounts were disabled or modified in any way. Your friend needs to manually enter her username and password. Rather than relying on the browser to automatically enter the correct details. If your friend does not know what her password is she can reset it by following this link. Clearing the browser's stored data such as cookies, cache, and history may also help.

Hogwash - my account has also been disabled. It will no longer accept my password, nor if you go onto the link to get the password emailed to you, enter the characters, it just takes you to a screen that tells you that the characters have been entered incorrectly. You are only supposed to be allowed 5 goes, but I had over 30, and never got past the first attempt - this is through re-accessing the page, not using the back biutton. I also emailed to advised of the techniocsal issue and recieved the fob off that my question would be answered. I have had to register with another emaila dddress just to try and get this issue resolved. I await your response to blame me in some way.......

Clearly you should now "Un-thanks" MSE Ian.

That's what he installed his new button for. He's very proud of it.

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

Have you gone completely out of your tree?

You spent time and Martin Lewis's money installing a button
Neither your time nor your money. What's it to you?

:) but i like the new button, i thanked someone by mistake on the comps board & can now 'unthank' , the thanks button is supposed to be only used if you find the post useful or helpful & before it was easy to accidently click on but we couldn't remove it :)

Ah, but you miss the point.

You "Thanks"ed a posting by MSE Ian that was then exposed (robustly) to be "Hogwash".

In the past that wouldn't have mattered. It was set in stone. You could forget about it.

Now that there's an "UN-thanks" button, though, you are burdened with the moral responsibility of having to go back to the posting and "Un-thanks" it.

There's two sides to this new coin, you see.

So far, actually, it appears to have earned me over thirty new ones, just today, in the other thread to which I linked it. :D

    who's "hogwash" :)

yes, i understand thare's two sides to the coin but i don't have a moral responsibility of having to go back to unthank what i've thanked now as we can 'unthank' it straight away if we've thanked by mistake :)

Thank you for your explanation and please give my kind regards to all your fellow inmates, there.

I thought of pressing the gratitude button on your posting but became overwhelmed with anxt that I might then lie awake at night, wrestling with the terrible dilemma of whether or not to come back here and un-thank you for it in three months time.

    So, I didn't. :)

Just think it could be worse for you, you could have lost the edit button ;)
