However, when i thank someone for their post, a button comes up giving me the option of removing my thanks.
I hope you enjoy the new feature.
MSE Ian,

Have you gone completely out of your tree?
You spent time and Martin Lewis's money installing a button for indecisive people who thank someone and then subsequently change their mind and go trawling back through threads to the original posting in order to un-thank them?
Do you get mail in April from people who write that they sent you a letter last January to thank you for the Christmas present that you sent them but have now decided that they didn't want to thank you after all?
I'm surprised that you didn't go the whole hog and add another little bar that reads, "The following user(s) did say thank you to xxxxxxxx for this useful posting but then changed their mind and decided they wanted to un-thank xxxxxxxx."
At least that would have helped us identify those in need of counselling.

As I posted on the other thread........
The thanks system is a mod/hack for vBulletin that has always had this as an option that can be enabled/disabled by board admins.
Until now, it has been disabled.
Hardly a big deal really.
Can't see why it was ever disabled to be honest.....

Can anyone tell me how to clear my cache on my Asus netbook, running on Linux with Firefox browser? Under Tools there is no "Internet options" like I am used to with Windows/IE, only "clear private data". Before I try selecting this, is it the right thing to do? I appreciate it will clear all my remembered passwords etc. from other sites, but if it sorts this one out it's worth re-inputting them all.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

The Thanked Counter has now disappeared from under the avatar photo, i assume this removal was deliberate.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -

Thank you for your explanation and please give my kind regards to all your fellow inmates, there.
I thought of pressing the gratitude button on your posting but became overwhelmed with anxt that I might then lie awake at night, wrestling with the terrible dilemma of whether or not to come back here and un-thank you for it in three months time.
So, I didn't.

Hi, I'm posting for a friend of mine on here because since the 'server update' her account appears to be disabled.
She can't post, PM (receive or send) or load an avatar. She can't even post on a thread she started!
She has sent emails to the various email addresses on the site and recieved only one reply (a FAQs page that didn't answer her problem).
She then emailed the suggested email address in the FAQs and has received nothing more.
We are friends in real life so that's how about this and have posted this in the hopes that this problem can be fixed! She has done nothing to deserve having her account disabled so is at a loss as to why she can't post etc.
Please could you give me some kind of assistance - even just pointing her in the right direction? Please note that she has contacted all the relevant email addresses on the site so I would be really appreciative if you could provide me with some other info. I will pass on any info you can give me to her asap.
Thanks for you help... she's really upset that this has happened as she's on MSE everyday (normally).
