Not much working here either! Loads of missing avatars (red error cross), pages freeze then timeout, PM's are slow (how weird), subs are not sending correct emails, showing as unread when they are in fact read.... want me to go on..?

While trying to go through this link https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2427575

    I kept getting the message
Configuration: includes/config.php does not exist. Please fill out the data in config.php.new and rename it to config.php

It happened three times. So I refreshed the page and the link worked again.
  • search is not working for me either

Still the same for me, three days now. The funny thing is it obviously does recognize the user as when I type in the first couple of letters of my username it offers me the full name in a drop-down box. Just my name, not a load of others. It also populates my password box automatically.

Also if I open another MSE window (it is my homepage so always opens first) it recognizes that I am already logged in, so it must have the IP address in memory.

Same for me type first letter and it comes up with my user name etc. I am using ff. I tried switching over to IE which is sooooooooo slow but same thing happens

Good luck everyone and Thank you to all posters xx

When you say thanks now you get a HUGE box with the names in etc.. any chance of putting it back the way it was?

  • When I click 'remember me' on log-in, it doesn't remember me, I have to sign in again after visiting another website, or closing the browser.

Most likely explanation is that something on your system, possibly your browser, is preventing the cookies that store your login information being saved when you tick the Remember Me button.

I have the same issue, using AOL, I was logged out, when I tried to log in with my correct username and password, I got the " you have used up your failed log in quota etc" and cannot try again for 15 minutes even though I had only tried once.

I clicked the forgotten password link and got the emailed links etc and got a new one but even that didnt log me in and I got blocked for a 2nd time!

Just tried internet explorer which I never use and it logged me in under my old password!

I received the same error but in addition, it would not let me log in once the 15 minutes were up. I tried resetting the password, then waiting 30 minutes or so, but it came up with the same error about reaching the quota. It's only that I've gone home and using my desktop pc, that I've managed to get in.

FWIW my work lapttop has IE 6 and here I'm using Firefox, so maybe its a browser thing?
