You're using the wrong search box. Once you're in the forums, use the 'Search' link at the top of the forum box and it'll take you directly to the results page. The search box at the very top of the page is for the whole site.

    Thanks for the advice :A!
    Hooray, it works :j
In defence of Mrs Angry, and many others including myself, this isn't really the "Wrong" search box. If you use the drop-down box option you can choos to search forums. This is the option I always used and it always worked fine (give or take a few glitches!) before the upgrade.
Now to decide whether search thread or post is the more effective option..!

im getting really fed up with this new site upgrade, i now cant reply to single posts, just have the option of replying at bottom of thread, and as has been stated i have always used the top search box and just selected forum in the search and it still says search the forum! yet when that option is chosen it takes you to a form.so if thats the wrong box why does it still say search site or forums?

also all the posts i get to are not in time order, they are all over the place!

if this has all changed it might be a good idea to create a thread other than this one explaining these sorts of issues so that people will at least know things have to be done a different way now and maybe put it on the home page, i went to the report technical issues here and got this thread and although it may be helpful to some its not really answering the queries people have!

im going to contact the site now for help i think
  • I cannot post anything as it keeps asking for my password and as soon as I type it in, it then says I've tried too many times and must wait 15 minutes, even though I have only entered my password once. I have had to completely re-register under a variation of my username, in order to post anything at all.

I have been a member for years and now I am having to start again as a newbie.

Exact same here. It's taken me 2 days of trying to reset my password and being sent round in circles locked out, only thought to try Internet Explorer when I read the above post. Will this problem be resolved or is it all over for AOL members?

  • The site won't keep me logged in, I have had the site open most of the day and have had to keep looging in every hour or so even with the remember me box ticked. I have not had to log in for years, luckily I remembered my password!
