Thanks for replies on mei tai...I was really wanting to come to the sling meet this time to ask about/look at some as I really think one would be handy around the house, maybe?

Will keep looking and thinking about one anyway:)

You are welcome to mine for as long as you like. I hardly use it now, even less now I have a Stokke.

    (Did I mention I have a Stokke?) :p

You've got appointments this Friday at sling meet time haven't you? Maybe the next one, when you have a baby with you might be better anyway. You can have a try of everyones different styles with a real life baby in. :D

    Hi all :)

Sorry to hear about Alice - I had whooping cough as a baby, can't remember a thing about it!

Hope Edgar had a good day Sami :)

    Happy Anniversary Aless!

Got a meeting with my manager tomorrow. Still no further on with C so we need to discuss options. Apparently parental leave can only be taken in 4 week blocks - so it looks like my only other option is a career break. I'm trying not to let it bother me but it's getting tiring now. I want to be back at work - as much as I love being with C and don't want anyone else to have her - I need that bit of a break from being a mummy 24/7 :(

For those of you who stopped BFing - what did you do to settle your LOs in the night? Did you give formula/cows milk? It's easy to settle Caitlyn back quickly at the moment - I just worry I'm going to kick up a storm if I have to start with warming beakers and if she has to wait for it she might wake up properly rather than just stir.

Argh went to pixi foto this morning, all i will say is , didnt get the pics done in the end, im not gonna rant on about it anyway (yet lol)
    Oh go on, what happened?!
You is one unlucky cot-lady :D
Seems that way doesn't it! lol... In my defence, the first cot was crap and rickety before I even got it, and the second cot did Aimee for 5 years before I put it away... It was only when I went to put it back together it started to fall apart...

I haven't stopped feeding Caitlyn myself yet, but I don't feed her if she wakes in the night, she has a beaker of water and I just try and settle her with shushing and cuddles anytime before 4/5ish... After that I do feed her... She cried a lot at first but now she mostly just lies down and goes straight back off with a tight grip on her beaker...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • Hiya pinkpig - I really feel for you. Have you thought about trying her in a nursery? All the other kids may be what she needs to distract her in a non-home environment??? *clutches at straws*

I stopped feeding Benjamin in the night before I stopped feeding IYSWIM. I just stopped offering it (because it is the easy option LOL) and started cuddling/rocking/shushing/dummy and elephant applying/generally doing things the hard way for a while. He soon got the idea.

I have never given him a bottle in the night.

And if you sleep nudey-buff like me it is helpful to wear a top so babba can't just help themselves :D

pinkpig- second MFD, nursery with other children may be a solution or worth trying.

Youll probably need a receipt. I asked them if they provided replacement parts for Silver Cross 3d Prams as they have them in stock but she said they could only do it if I could prove I bought it there (and not got it free on Freecycle!). I was asking about buying them but it was still a no.

If its a MC branded product you should be OK without a receipt.
SX you can buy lots of places which is prob why MC not forthcoming on that one.

Som should be able to tell you :D

I've just been spinally (sp) adjusted !! Scareist part was paying! My spine is 'a mess' aparently! I knew that before I went lol

Looks like the best part of £400 to get me back to normalish, not very :money: in the slightest

I don't feed at night either, haven't since she was 8wks. I would offer water but never really felt the need to. X

Random but I've not been vaccinated against whooping cough because a friend of the family is severely disabled due to the vaccine so my mum had a (possible?) knee jerk reaction to not let my sister and I have it. I hope my Aunty & Uncle didn't bring any germs with them last week when they visited from Durham.
Someone at church heard Alice coughing and said that her daughter had had the same cough and had ended up being referred to an athma specialist who said it was whooping cough. Based on when they were last up here and when Alice first had symptoms, that's almost certainly how Alice got it.

Apparently the were issues with the old "whole cell" vaccine which used up to around the mid eighties. There was a big scare about it in the seventies and a big resurgence in whooping cough because so many people didn't vaccinate.

I'd have to go and look it up but I'm fairly sure that your employer can choose to be as flexible as they like but if they won't then they can limit it to no more than four weeks in a year and insist it is taken in full one week blocks. I'll go see if I can find some links.

I remember that scare, was going on with DD1 and 2, some thought I was mad getting them vaccinated.

Seems crazy that it was still a problem in the late 80's though when quite clearly it was a different vaccine.

    Oh go on, what happened?!

Well when jasmine was first born we got the bounty vouchers and i bought a set of 3 sessions from pixi foto so i could get some pics of both of them together (siblings cant go on the bounty ones),

anyway used the 6-12 month voucher in march before she turned one and someone rang me last week asking if i wanted to use 1 of the sessions ive got left in the ones that ive paid for, said yes confirmed kids names ect ect, anyway turn up this morning to be told jasmine cant be in the complimentry pic?? apparantly cos its been less than 3 month since her last 'shoot', what annoyed me is they rang me!!! and why couldnt they have told me this before i trapsed into town!!! which was stressful with jake! argh anyway told them to forget it and asked for head office details, rang em and the area manager is apparantly calling me tomo. they could have just used their discretion and let them both be in the pic... but no, they are a set of morons!! oh and its only a matter of days before its the 3 month mark anyway!!! i was only gonna get the free pic cos im mega skint this month, but i've already paid for the shoot in advance a year ago so i'd like my pic but want both my kids on!! i think they do it to try n make me buy one with em both on, but they wont get a penny out of me again!!

...and then jakes been moaning all afternoon cos he was looking forward to his 'photo shoot' lol !
