Am I being blonde expecting a new printer to come complete with all the necessary cables to hook it up to a computer?

New printer arrived without any way to attach it to our network - now our IT bod will charge us 40-odd quid (plus cost of cables + a bit) to come and hook it up!! I was hoping to do it myself with maybe a quick phonecall to said IT bod!


Sorry - I am in the office on my own so no-one to ramble crap at!!!
