Tara... probably sorted but I had Trumpet Voluntary (Prince of Denmark March) to come in, Pachebel's Canon in D for signing of register and went out to Widor's Toccata...
Cant remember first dance cos it was some Frank Sinatra song we picked at last minute.
One of my friends read a passage from the Bible and then a second one read this... (bit soppy)
Your marriage’, he said ‘should have within it, a secret and protected place open to you alone.
Imagine it to be a walled garden, entered by a door to which only you have the key.
Within this garden you will cease to be a mother, father, employee, homemaker or any other of the roles, which you fulfil, in daily life.
Here you are yourselves two people who love each other.
Here you can concentrate on one another’s needs.’
So take my hand and let us go back to our garden.
The time we spend together is not wasted but invested.
Invested in our future and the nurture of our love.Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
Its so frustrating having to go through songs and finding the lyrics to make sure there is no religous content ¬¬
Plus all the songs i like have no loving meaning.
Im currently going through the phantom of the opera soundtrack0 -

That is beautiful Maz.
We decided against a reading in the end - but if we had one it would have been this:
A Marriage
Michael Blumenthal
You are holding up a ceiling
with both arms. It is very heavy,
but you must hold it up, or else
it will fall down on you. Your arms
are tired, terribly tired,
and, as the day goes on, it feels
as if either your arms or the ceiling
will soon collapse.
But then,
unexpectedly,
something wonderful happens:
Someone,
a man or a woman,
walks into the room
and holds their arms up
to the ceiling beside you.
So you finally get
to take down your arms.
You feel the relief of respite,
the blood flowing back
to your fingers and arms.
And when your partner's arms tire,
you hold up your own
to relieve him again.
And it can go on like this
for many years
without the house falling.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Tara - meant to say that Elbow song makes me nearly cry every time I hear it!! It was popular when I was pregnant and I used to blub my heart out at the chorus
*is welling up even writing about it*

Aww, bless you, OH has liked Elbow for years, well before they became well known.I love the bit 'well holy cow I love you lots'.The readings are both beautiful, could we have 2? I've re-written one for my friends son to do, it's this so all big words have been changed...
Precious Gift.
One day when God felt giving
He looked down at me and smiled
Since I feel so great hearted
I’d like to give you something child
He asked me what I wanted
I said, ‘oh nothing more’
You’ve done so much already
He said ‘that’s what God is for’
‘You have been pretty good’ he said
I know there’s not much you seek
I will give you a little something
Just to make your life complete
With great hope and excitement
I looked forward to my gift
I wondered what God had in mind
That would give me such a lift
‘This gift’ God said ‘you realise’
I give to you with trust
So if you accept my present
Be willing to agree, you must
To offer without question
A section or a part
To give up more than half of it
The larger portion of you heart
‘Okay God’ I answered
Since in you, I always trust
I will do as you ask of me
In the manner that I must
To myself I thought, wow, what a gift
So much of me God asked
Now what could be so precious
That my share was more than half?
For my gift I held out both my hands
I did not have a clue
Then God put your hand in mine
And said his gift to me was YOU!Too many children, too little time!!!0 -
