A "piece" is a sandwich in Scotland! It's funny though, I would never say a "piece and tuna" or a "piece and gammon salad" but it seemed to go right with sausage in that sentence. And I might have a "piece and jam".

Tia, Caz, Csh - help me out please!

a piece is a sandwich here too, or a butty :D
Same here I'm an 82 chick!!

Ahh thanks ladybird i just had visions of some bloke dumping groceries on my doorstep and me paying all that money for delivery when i could have just gone there myself. Luckily it is a legit code so i shouldn't have to put up a fight there!!

Hoping my Buzz comes tomorrow :T I saw a red one at swimming lessons today and it looked really nice.

I pressed multi-quote earlier then forgot to comment. I am always so confused when nuns have mens names.....I know so little about Catholicism.

I don't know - i'd never thought about it til you said!
We also had Sister Michael, but the others were Sister Rita, Sister Philomena and Sister Maureen.

Before we abandon reminisces of the past I will admit to being completely freaked out that people born in 1980 are turning 30 this year! I remember stuff in 1980

    Including my OH!

Agreed! I work in CRB checking and seeing people applying for jobs with the date of birth 1994 is really weird. I left school in that year! I was only just getting used to people born in the 80s!

Working at the CSA and seeing new applications from parents born in 1993 always used to make me go and check dates because that can't be possible!

Elle Hope your friend is ok. Do you know what was wrong with her?

 MM As you were leaving school in 2000, I had a 3 year old and was expecting my next one!

1985 I was a stroppy teenager causing my Mum heartache! :(:o

  • AF El never started speaking til she was 2. She had words that only I could understand IYGWIM. She is now nearly 2 1/2 and still not properly speaking but I have no worries as she understands every word you say to her.

This is one thing that I wonder about - I can tell what Benjamin is saying and some of his words (like Hiya) are really clear. But I don't know how many others are just things that I understand IYSWIM. We practice words a lot and I think he has quite a few words...someone else might just think he babbles nonsense!!!

I'm on my last year of early 30's this year. My DH is nearer to 50 than 40 this year.

Scruffy/MFD - Katie is 3 and I still have to translate for her as her pronunciation isn't that great compared to her peers.

The look of confusion that comes over adults faces when she starts talking about having a tail at home is priceless.
Proud to be dealing with my debts
