I always wonder do you only remember bad things from childhood, do they stick in your memory for longer?
    ...
a doctor told us that you always remember stuff from childhood in general, they said your memory was like a big box that when your old is full/overflowing so the stuff you put in last falls out but you always have the stuff that went in the box first.

Som & Krystal - you MUST buy your lovely girlies those trainers! Adidas also do some soft leather minnie mouse shoes that I saw in JJB today, V cute!

I got Chris a new pair of adidas today (I'm a bit obsessed with adidas) they look like proper boys trainees not toddler ones

Kindof - I looked at a grp1 isofix seat when I was getting Chris's but hardly anywhere seemed to have them *shrug* if you get it fitted properly then a non isofix one is just as safe. I got the maxi cosi tobi and I got it fitted by my local council car seat safety team. Local Car Seats Help and Advice
Jave you checked which seats fit everyones cars to see if there's one that will go in everyones? Britax - Fit-Finder Maxi-Cosi fit list

    sorry, i missed these
AF - LO was saying mama long before Benjamin was though. They all do stuff at their own rate, no point worrying about it.

    How's the CV coming?

i know you are right :D just having a funny five minutes. although i think she is the naughtiest. she is going to through a stage of standing on her toys. when i tell her to get off she then just goes and stands on another and looks straight at me smiling!!

CV is under construction. i was very very brave (well for me) and spoke to our new Head of Department (i know him well as he has worked for us before) about where i was at and why. he understands where i am coming from and the issues that i have. i didn't say i was actually leaving, but alluded to it and he said he can understand people wanting to keep their ear to the ground and improve themselves but he would be upset to see me go.

we have talked about a few changes coming and things that i can be involved in, which is good for me.

i dont know. i need to make a decision. either accept i have said my piece and get over it, or completely have a change and move on somewhere else

    That's what I did. (December 1980.)

Alice didn't talk loads until around when she turned two. She was definitely behind "average" at that point but there is a huge range so she wasn't wildly out or anything. Once she started talking she just zoomed away though. Now when you go to get her up in the morning she just starts talking constantly and you can hardly get a word in edgeways. The way I understand it, as long as they can babble and seem to understand things, it's not too important whether they're actually saying words.

    oh, i was only 2.5yrs then ....

she does understand things, that's for sure, doesn't always listen, but she knows what is being said. i think she will come out with five words in a day the way she babbles.

Kindof - not sure if all car seats are the same, but we have the Maxi Cosi Cabrio seat with Isofix base at the moment, but you can still use it without Isofix. DH's car doesn't have Isofix, but you can still strap the base in with the seatbelt. And he took the base to work accidentally once, but I could still strap the seat in the car without any base. So just because you get Isofix doesn't necessarily mean your parents couldn't use it.

Before we abandon reminisces of the past I will admit to being completely freaked out that people born in 1980 are turning 30 this year! I remember stuff in 1980

Agreed! I work in CRB checking and seeing people applying for jobs with the date of birth 1994 is really weird. I left school in that year! I was only just getting used to people born in the 80s!

Evening all. Has everyone had a good Thursday?

Will be back in a tick (just putting my tea out... this is too late for me to be sitting down to eat damnit!) but I just wanted to say - MFD - I'm quite happy to not turn 30 just yet if that makes you feel any better ;) (My birthday is coming up soon!)
