Hi all,
Before you all go switching your carseats to the middle seat the which study concluded that it is no safer. No position has been proven to be safer and for forward facing the risks of going through the windscreen increases in the middle.
I put Benjamin on the passenger side so I don't have to get him out onto the road.
The kiddy infinity is the which best buy, as Krystal said, it is virtually impossible to fit incorrectly and because you fit it with the seatbelt each time (no harness) it is re-secured each trip.
Off to have dinner, back to chat in a bit, kisses all round xxxplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Why are all the cars he's choosing sporty looking saddo cars?
And how is Mr MFD?Too many children, too little time!!!0 -
Krystal - ooh intresting device, if i keep getting them will ask about it. Funny enough my mum said i need more sunshine!
Susan - i agree totally the bar needs to be set much higher safety wise but i also think there should be some scheme to help people afford the better car seats so they dont have to feel there comprimising. Oh and recaro seats have a fab rep, might look into that one, thanks for the pics too x
tia - just had a quick lookie at Which and the best sub £100 seat they say is the Britax King at £95 HTH.
EA - OH is all up for meeting so hows tuesday 1st sound?
Went to the walk in centre to get my finger done again and was tld there were 12 people in front of us! Anyhoo after an hour only 3 had been called so decided I wasnt waiting anymore cos at that rate i wouldnt have got seen till about 8pm!!! Managed to get an appointment with nurse to do it at 2.45 on Friday instead, cant wait around all day with bubs its not fair on her.
beenie/tara - seatbelts are tested on your mot but also there made for an adult over 5ft hence there not great for children.
OH had night terrors as a child we're really hoping T doesnt get them!
fernlie - that is one of the reasons isofix is safer but not the only reason, but if you dont have theres not much you can do unless you have the money to get it retrofitted! and thats not avail in all cars.
becles/susan/mdw - love those funny kids
tia - yeay for sales and i dont think your rude.Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

The Chicco pushchair in the Asda baby event is now down to £40 if that helps anyone

Rhys has been out (in said pushchair, in fact!) for an hour with Mum this afternoon round the village (stopping off at the post office, GISI) and is shattered yet again
He was still sound asleep when I scooped him out of his cot this morning, had his bottle when we got to Mum's and went straight back to sleep. Two more naps at mum's and 40mins on the journey home and once we were home, then tea and now zonked again!
He's got a little red dot on his gum (been there since yesterday) but I can't see anything white above it. Would he get a red dot with a tooth coming up underneath it? *shrug*
Work was good today.. new job dayOnly one more day to go in my old job but that's next week
Hope everyone had a good day xx
ETA: I know what else I meant to say... the "does OH move to shifts?" saga is back on, yet again. For real this time, one of the shift guys handed his notice in and OH has approx the next twelve hours to decide if he wants the job or not :cool:0 -
Hello, and an extra big Hello to 3:)
Hope everyone is well.
Mel xxUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
Don't think a red dot is a tooth Elle. X
Som, I understood that an adult belt was no good with some children as they don't weigh enough, so it doesn't tension properly with an impact and they can slip out!Too many children, too little time!!!0 -
Sorry you had such a pants day SS. Enjoy your beer. XXXXXXXToo many children, too little time!!!0

We have the Britax Eclipse SI as we have a sports car and this one was recommended for the seat type. Think it was £120.
*rant*.... this morning we received a letter from the CSA stating we owed £176 to be paid in may, june and july!! Our case was closed in November 09 so OH rang them this morning to be told it was arrears from 2006, I was so mad I spoke to our case worker just now to be told he was so sorry but the letter was sent out automatically by the system and just to ignore it as we dont owe anything:mad: I was absolutely fuming and said can he imagine how upsetting a letter like that is to receive!!! got the impression it was cos he was so imcompetant at his job he had failed to close the case correctly!!! I cannot believe how they run! the lady this morning said letters get sent out like this all the time! *rant over*
I love hearing all the funny stories that Alice, Charlotte are saying
