SM, well I went to college 2008 aged uhm... 27? Anyway, I decided that I actually quite liked Biology so would toddle off to college and do some of it, and then while doing it I decided I actually quite love it a lot so now I'll do my HNC this year and either - get a job in a lab as a junior, go to uni for a degree (thinking Biomedical, but also torn over Embryology) or get a job in a lab as a junior doing my degree through work placement there.
If there really is something you want to do, look into it now.0 -
Aw Bruno what a Charmer. I saw a lady with bright red shoes and thought of E.
SM I'm sure this won't help but I'll tell you. I decided when I was 16, followed my dream and went to drama school, graduated then didn't get a job in the field I graduated in. Instead I decided to follow my heart and stay where the love of my life was. Once I have my family I hope to go back to it tho. Or my second choice care work with disabled (children) preferably.Everyone is entitled to their opinionEllie 25/12/070 -

At around 29, SM. I did one job out of university for 5 years, knew it would never 'go anywhere, changed to something that I thought might be good for about a year before (being made redundant and) deciding it wasn't for me, then worked part-time/unemployed/temping for another 2 years before deciding to commit to a particular direction. So I fully understand people who just aren't sure!0 -

25 was a big year for me. i met DH, moved to england and got into the career i always wanted to do but had nealry given up on ever doing.
travel was something i always wanted to do, but for one reason and another never managed it in ireland.
think it was fate me meeting DH outside a bar in majorca lol!!searching_me wrote: »jillie i think he would like that .. suggest it later when were talking (usually have big discussion on a fri/sat night for some reason) x

SM, I knew what I wanted to do at the age of 15yrs old....I'm still nowhere near(I am now 30)! I have however done 'other' things I wanted..i.e had 4 kids:) I am a very determined person though so I know I will get what I want in the end, but I am impatient and am finding it very frustrating that I am not there yet.....Unfortunately deciding on a creer and actually getting one are miles apart, and involve many hours of hard work and tears. I am a firm believer in anyone can acheive anything they want, if they want it enough (disabilities and other external influences aside)
Hammy...I will try and get on tomorrow, but we are off to York and have loads to do before we leave at 2pm....need to take dog to MIL's, pick up hire car, go Asda for supplies/treats, and pack!! ETA - Hope things went ok in the big city:)Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
SM, I'm 33 and still don't really know what I want to do. Got an honours degree and Masters in Environmental Management. Worked in printing inks for 8 years, got made redundant, fell into the customer service job I have just been made redundant from and am now back at square one. (Thats the short version jobwise
)
I don't really have a 'dream job', just like to be appreciated for what I do. My back up has always been life guarding/teaching lifeguards so that's what I'll be doing for a while. Do fancy photography as mentioned on here recently but I prob won't do anything about it for a while, just gonna concentrate on C and hope number 2 comes along soon. I'll then think about a career type job when the kids (hopefully) are at school. Still won't know what I'll want to do then
Don't think this has helped but just to let ya know that not everyone knows what they want to do xxxMy baby girl :kisses3: September 09 :heartsmil0 -
