Hi all xx
aless - Elena hates her sleeping bag too: she kept trying to fight her way out of them, so we don't use them anymore.
I managed to get a bit of sleep last night which was good! Bubs still wakes up at least once or twice to be fed, and is currently refusing to sleep in her cot so is in with us. She is rolling over lots though, and seems to have decided she wants to sleep on her tummy.
She is also almost crawling! She is desperate to be moving and is putting a lot of effort into it all0 -
Hehe, thanks all. I stopped swaddling because I felt like he's 6 months old and it's about time to stop - he had graduated from a tight swaddle to a loose (Google "Aussie swaddle") one several weeks ago, but he was starting to break out that several times a night. He actually never rolled in the swaddle!
Fitz - he naps based on when he last woke up, but we've been doing this since he was around 8 weeks old, so it's something he's very much used to. I do try and stay flexible based on his mood and such. By and large, his naps are generally very good - it's only the nighttimes which are a battle! And even they, like it sounds like Hammy deals with, are a bit random (as in, I can't see a pattern in the nights he sleeps well & the nights he doesn't).
It's okay, I'm not really looking for advice anyway...just like to come on here to have a moan.
Oh and I don't have much patience either...had a mini-breakdown at 5am this morning after being up every hour...I'm better these days about keeping my cool, but 2/3 nights of hourly wake-ups is usually my limit.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Morning all.
Searching - you think someone took them while you were in the gym, or they've fallen out? Have you emptied the whole bag and made sure there are no holes in the lining where they could be stuck inside the bag somewhere?
Izzy is being cute this morning - she has got Dh's little mini laptop thing, opened it up, and is tapping away on the keyboard pretending to be mummyIsabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Aless - I am happy to listen to you moaning! And even if you aren't asking for advice, I would love to see things improve for you, so am just trying to think of things, based on what I have read from you, in the hope something might help! I don't mean to be interfering, and obviously only you know what Finn is actually like and are best to judge. The only thing I would say is remember that as they get older, they do nap less during the day and their routines change, so make sure he isn't getting too much sleep during the day from his naps. Will back off now in case I am offending you - please know that is not my intention. x0

Sorry Fitz - I have to disagree with you on the daytime naps. Benjamin sleeps better at night if he has napped well during the day and always has done - quite often people on here say that the more a baby sleeps the better they sleep.
As Benjamin got older he started to nap for longer times during the day - he can easily have 3 or 4 hours during the day and then sleep 12 or 13 at night.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Well on this one I am in the middle, as E definitely suffered if he had too little nap, but he also became very difficult at least in terms of staying up too late if he had too much nap! So I think the message really is that it's not a one size fits all rule, and it's worth considering from all directions
Also, MFD, I just boggle at a baby that sleeps much  (I am not saying it's abnormal, I know it's relatively common) - E never ever slept more than maybe 13 hours total per day, and most of his life it's been more like 11 total between night and nap.0 -
just input on the sleep .. jayden sleep a good 10-13 hours with or without a nap .. i think it totally depends on the child x
Still searching .....:)
