Is there anyone on here from the Lake District who can reccommend a swimming pool? We're going to stay at my auntie's caravan at Pooley Bridge, nr Penrith, and we want to take Thomas swimming while we're there. He'll be just about 12 weeks when we go and it will most likely be his first swim. There is a swimming pool at Penrith but just wondered if that was the best for babies or if it's worth travelling a bit, we have a car. Main priority is warm baby pool I guess, not bothered about going to a special session.

    Hi Gill
I'm from that area :) Theres a leisure pool in Keswick which is about 25 mins drive from Penrith.

It hasn't got a seperate baby pool, but the swimming pool has 2 shallow ends and gradualy slopes down iyswim?

GISI - thanks for your post. ive had a few teary moments today. one was just staring at Landen realising he's this whole complete person and that i would die for him in an instant...... and then one was because my back was killing me and then i started feeling like it was all my fault that i've ended up in so much pain because i didnt labour naturally.... although i know thats silly and the thought process has left me now, thankfully.......

I can probably be there by 10:30-11.

Zara looks massive and easy to find, how about there, on the side that faces Chavasse Park at 11?

Excellent - i'll text you my number.

3 - hope you get the SW kicked into touch

I'm hoping we're getting there. I saw J's new consultant & school nurse this morning and /they were both very lovely.

He gave me the name of the head of SS and told me to phone him direct and complain. He also said he'll complain on my behalf as it's totally wrong that we don't receive any respite care for J when people with much less disabled children receive all sorts of help.

He's referred us to a behavioural phycologist(?) who'll assess J at school and at home to try and figure out the reason for the behaiviour before we figure out what to do about it.

3 - Whereabouts do you mean by South West Scotland? I am near Glasgow, but Tia is more southernly than me.

We're going here, http://www.ardlamont.com/location.html, which is Tighabruaich, PA21 2AH (I have no idea how to say that!)
