F**k this.
We have a friend staying. Husband started talking about Molly's birth, and I commented that it's possible to hire a private midwife who'll do the pre-, during- and post-birth bit. He got all blustery and loud and said, But we don't need that. We have a gorgeous baby and that's all that matters. We've talked about this about a hundred times. I'm in counselling because that isn't all that matters.
Sorry about all your bad nights and early starts.
And oh !!!!!!, he took her off for a nap and she's fallen off the bed  I know it happens, what I'm angry about is that he first told me she fell on her bum, but there's a big red mark on the back of her head and suddenly the story changes and she hit her head too.
Mummy cuddles and kisses administered and she's ok. But I'm raging.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Morning everyone.
Bruno - sorry to hear of your bad night.
We actually had a better night last night - F went from 11.15pm-4.10am, which he's only managed once before!!! I was sooooo thankful.
MFD - Is it wrong of me to say that I feel jealous of your 2 nights 'off'? Since my daughter was born (she's 4 and a half now), she's stayed away for one night when she was about 3 months old, when she stayed with MIL. My husband is normally really against the idea of her staying at his mothers as he thinks she'll get into bad habits as he thinks his Mum will let her get away with murder - can you tell it's me that has the disturbed nights when she has nightmares etc (or just wants a midnight chat!) and the early mornings?
Well, I shouldn't complain really, he's arranged for us to go and watch Les Mis at the Bristol Hippodrome in July - our daughter is going to stay overnight with MIL then, and she's also going to look after the baby and we'll collect him at about midnight on our way home so that she doesn't have to get up with him during the early hours! I really, really can't wait!Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'

I did mean it in a complimentary way, MFD!
I envy! Sometimes, anyway.

People of PT, I will need to start picking your brains very soon on What to Take on a 7 Hour Airplane Journey for a 6 Month Old. Travel is rapidly approaching, and I am growing apprehensive!
Bruno, sorry to hear, but coffee is definitely in order. Mmmm I could go for a fancy latte right now. I've just remembered that I promised to bring something to the BBQ tomorrow, so definitely better sort that out today!
If I do go back to my job, I'll have the odd night away as well...like you, Bruno, it's more just for lack of anyone close to watch him combined with not wishing to inflict his bad sleeping on anyone else! (he won't even settle for DH nowadays, much less I doubt anyone else!)
MFD, that photo of Benjamin was far too cute. And Angela's had me yearning for a little girl - such an adorable dress!!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
would like to win a holiday, please!!

Bruno...I really feel for your lack of sleep. Hope you have a good barbie and manage to last until tonight.
SS...I really dont think hubbies ( sorry Bruno, Im generalising here) how the pregnancy/ birth can affect us. I think they assume ' so long as everything is okay in the end' that thats all that matters.
MFD.....have a lovely weekend. Your story re the planes made me laugh. I was pushing Rose on her swing the other day and was saying ' shout to mummy to push you higher ' and she started waving and shouting ' hiya '. I obviously dont speak clearly enough for her!!DS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090 -

That's funny, I was first going to say I wonder where everything will be on your return but then for some reason assumed Benjamin would be staying with her rather than the other way round! Hope it's not too disastrous when you get back!
Sugar (((hugs))) It's so hard when issues seem to just be swept aside, especially when the sweeper knows (or really should know) just how big those issues are. Hope lovely Molly is ok after her tumble.0 -

My job involves overnighters every month or two so part of it is necessity. The other part is to make sure that as a couple who still haven't been together that long that we make an effort to retain some semblance of our life as a couple. Has only ever been for 1 night before though. We used to be running all over the place going to concerts and theatre and comedy gigs, now we go out about once a month.
I am quite tame compared to some mummies I know.
Horses for courses I guess *shrug*
I totally agree, and therefore cannot wait for my night away tonight. I must go and get sorted.
OH and I have only had one night away from together H since he was born but it was great and we'll be doing it again!
Aless- H will only settle for me if I'm around, but if I'm out or he with MIL he settles fine with them.
Aless- friends of ours with a baby the same age as H have just done a 9 hour flight to Canada. Their bub was fine. I know the took some brand new toys that she'd not seen before, not sure what else but I will try and find out. I do know they were told they couldn't use a baby carrier (Baby Bjorn type thing) on board, so not sure if that would be the same with a sling, or indeed the same with all airlines.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0
