  • Is anyone else finding themselves welling up at the new John Lewis ad?

Especially at the bit where a baby crawls into a play tunnel and when she comes out the other end she's about 3? I'm welling up just thinking about it.

This is not like me at all (No I am not pregnant OH is only home Fri Sat Sun nights and we are both so knackered by then that we are just sleeping)

LOL me too! Very good ad!

Fatty - that will be absolutely fine, just see what LO likes and let him eat some himself.

My DD is 14 this year and I've known from she was 3yrs that something wasn't quite right. Been fobbed off so many times by 2 primary schools and the secondary. The problem is she is quite good academically so they are not interested enough to invest any time in her.
However since she started at Academy the !!!!!! has hit the fan and its apparent she can't cope with whats its expected of her. eg has no personal organisational skills, no sense of time or appropriate behaviour for a situation etc.
I'm at the school tomorrow as she is on the verge of permanent exclusion and they still fob me off.

I'm meeting the HOY and the Deputy head and the SEN. I want retests and copies of all the apparent 'inconclusive' tests they have.

I'm aware that reads like I'm trying to excuse her bad behaviour but its not like that.
They are trying to apply normal people logic to her and she doesn't possess normal people logic.
Its like telling a blind child to try harder to see.

It's interesting you should say that, because I was tested and found to be 'not dyspraxic' mainly because I can write quite well and did well academically like your daughter does. However. I have never had any sense of time, at all. My organisational skills just do not exist, and I forget things almost instantly (to the point where I was nicknamed 'dory' when Nemo came out :o) Also I struggled seriously with gears when learning to drive, I just can't do it all at once. I'm learning 'auto-!!!!!!' now, point car and go :o

So I can identify with how your daughter feels! I just used to get nagged to death (and still do) to 'get organised' and my mum always felt there was something wrong with me and I agree with her tbh.

Good luck with that meeting x
Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession :o:o

I had to write a wee list of what K does of a day for when I go back to work as a reference for MIL (and OH as he has memory probs due to his medication). I wanted to keep it quite light-hearted without it reading like an instruction manual or me dictating what I want done with him lol
An Average Day in The Life Of Me.

    By Kieren Xxxxx Xxxxx

I like to start my day at around:

6.30-6.45am with a bottle of milk.
I then like to go downstairs and have my bum changed while I watch Milkshake on Channel 5.
I quite like to have my breakfast of
Porridge and half a fruit pot and my water, 20-30mins after I come downstairs. I might not look hungry but I like my breakfast then.
After breakfast I can have a wee play if I’m not going out anywhere. If I’m going out I get dressed now.
I like to take my first nap at 8.15-8.30am. I like to lie in my pram and listen to my lullaby CD while I fall asleep. I like to sleep for anything up to an hour.
After nap time I’m pretty easy going until 11am ish where I’ve decided I quite like to have a snack of a yoghurt followed by a bottle of milk.
After this I may nap for 30 mins.
Lunch time is usually between 1-2pm depending on nap time.
I like a full jar of main meal and half a jar of pudding or a yoghurt, with water to drink.
I have another bottle of milk between 3-4pm. And I may have another short nap.
Dinner time is between 4.30-5.30pm and I have a full jar of main meal plus pudding and a drink. Please be aware, if you are not feeding me until 5.30pm I will be a right grumpy pants and rub my dinner in my eyes and ears!
After dinner I like to get my jammies on and wind down and think about my day for a little while.
I usually retire to my bedroom at 6.30pm-7pm and have a nice bottle of milk before falling asleep. Some nights I don’t feel like having milk so may go to sleep without.
I will not be friendly if I’m still awake after 7.30pm!

Oh dear, anyone seen the seats inside the Volvo V50 Design, gonna be soo embarrassed! Must be a man thing. :o
Too many children, too little time!!!
    :p
  • Kindof - Benjamin was born on 14 March and I left him overnight on 4th June. My mum looked after him in my house whilst hubby and I went to a charity event.

Horses for courses. I would personally go mad if I never had a chance to escape LOL. I also think it does babba good to be in someone elses care for a while.

And grandparents deserve dedicated babba time imho ;-)
