FAB Sleep in this house :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

7.30pm, DF at 10pm, heard a few cries in the night but nothing substantial and he slept til 5am :j:j

I really didn't spend an hour sitting in the sun by the canal at lunchtime :whistle::whistle:

Off home in 10 mins :j:j

CSH - I agree it's the food which is the reason he's sleeping!
    (I didn't know you'd had a reduction as well!)

    Yey for good night!

    Evening,

Sami so sad about ILs pets :( I hate animal cruelty. And Aless, your cat sounds like a pita :o My bl&8dy cat almost caused me to break my legs today - she ran up the stairs as I came down, carrying Guy, I tripped and fell down, Guy banged his head (lovely red mark to show for it :() and I am waddling like a duck with bum/back pain, lovely!!

Grr to stupid eBayers, there are so many of them out there!

Beenie well done for taking the first step in saying no!! Lovely that you've plans with your friend tomorrow :D

SM good look with the job app, you can get it then give us all discount

Muso Guy comes in the bath with us sometimes and has done from less than a week old. I've still not made a mums & babies group (well done for getting to the point of contemplating one so quickly!!) but I figure everyone is in the same boat looking for new mummy friends :D

Jillie, Guy's fave channel is sky sports news too - or so OH keeps telling me when it's constantly on :rotfl:

Krystal the pic is just gorgeous, such a beautiful little girl :)(I'm so broody for a girl... never thought I would be)

Cream crackered tonight, went out with Guy this morning to do boring jobs then went with OH to his hospital app this aft, the good news is, though he's covered in moles none of them are a concern :D I did learn that being moley is genetic and if you're predisposed and don't properly cover kids they will end up moley too, but if you do, then they won't  So Guy will now be even more religiously lathered in factor 50! Then we went to the park with my little sis and had dinner with my family, now home and listing more of our c*ap on eBay, I so need to get rid of the boxes of clothes I don't wear before we move :o
    Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j

    Evening everyone,

Congratulations, Happy birthday, hugs all round.

Fathers Day Gift - I like the sweet jar idea, but I don't think I'd be too popular at my local old fashioned sweet shop counting out 1163 sweets!

    Tara
    - any news on Ben yet?

Beenie - stick to your guns - I used to get paid £10 16 years ago for a nights babysitting (4 hours) so your friend is definitely taking the mick.

Then she suggests paying me to still keep doing every week. I say no it's not about money or anything like that. She says but she needs to work and would rather pay me to know he was coming here. She suggests paying £10 for the 3.5 hours he's here...

I was saying no but she said please just think about it.

ARGHHHHHHHHH I dunno what to flipping do :mad::mad: *cry*
Tell her that a) the money doesn't make any difference to how inconvenient it is and b) if she paid you, it would be breaking the law as you are not a registered childminder.

Beenie - I agree with susan. Using the legal line might be the best way forward. That woman sounds like a complete user, she's clearly trying to back you into a corner.

I'm just going to have to be brave and go to a mothers group. I've found one thats got good reviews on the web. If not for me, I don't want Holly to grow up being as awkward as me in social situations.

We just tried the bath - DH got in with her and I washed her from the side. Was far more successful with far less screaming!
  • FWIW - I pay my CM £10.50 for 3.5 hours so she is not taking the pee with the money.
You are nearly there now Beenie - just stick to your guns and say no for all the reasons you have already given.
OK, I have a couple of weird questions coming up that are prob going to sound really stupid....

    1. At what point is baby old enough (if it matters at all) to share a bath with me or DH? H is 3 weeks old now and we've been giving her little baths in her baby bath on the days that she manages to throw up milk all over herself (which is most days!) but she absolutely hates it and screams the place down. I was thinking she might be better in with one of us but not sure if she's too little.

    2. What kind of thing goes on at a mother and baby group? I'm thinking about joining one but I'm not very good at social situations and making new friends. I don't have any friends where we live now and the last time I made new friends was at uni, a good 6 years ago!

You need to be really careful that the water isn't too hot when you bathe with baby. We have had Benjamin in with us since about 6 weeks...IMHO it is easier when they are holding their head a bit more.

Is the water too cold in the baby bath? A couple of friends say that this was a problem with them.

Also - you can give her reassurance without being in with her. I used to hold Benjamin along my arm so my arm was under the water and just use one hand to wash him so he always felt secure.

    Hope this helps.

Oh and don't worry about mum and baby groups - conversation usually revolves around feeding / sleeping / stitches / childbirth etc and if you don't want to join in you always have a baby to occupy you ;)

Beenie, give me her number? I tell her where to go! lol.

Can i pick your brains please? :D I need an ebay title for DH's old ipod.

Its an Ipod Classic, black, scratched on the back, 30gb and the headphone socket doesn't work well. It only lets you hear out of one earphone.
I dont want to put 'Faulty' as during my research all the 'faulty' listings only had upto £12.

It works perfectly fine other than the headphone thing :D

PP - Thanks hun I think we are on BF charts I know the HV got confused for a second cos mine were new and different. The HV wasnt rude about the weight issue she just wants to monitor it, and I dont have an issue as long as T is ok and gaining some weight, just if I can do better by her then I will try what I can. Will remember carbs and am not a big caffine drinker, just a coffee in the morning to wake me up and maybe a tea at night after dinner, we mainly live on OJ and lemonade and water.

boo - hope you and Isla both feel better soon x The bbok your reading sounds intresting and its a valid point too. I wouldnt have been worried about her weight had I not known altho she has been out of sorts a lil have been putting that down to Jabs and being out of routine what with the visit to Mums.

Aless - thanks for the support and will remember to keep away from the coffee lol, the sleep deprivation isnt so bad thru the day its the night when am listening to OH snore!! And we get lots of wet nappies tho she now only poos ever 2 or 3 days!

Fitz - yeay about the referal :D and totally agree with you on the monitoring Ts weight.

Newbie_maz - thanks, I promise not to get in a pickle about the weight thing, I just figure I could eat better and I know am suffering with a lack of sleep and have been a lil teary/moody lately, and I know these things will only be better for T. But its good to know if those things dont work then its not unusual, and like Evie T is for the most a very happy content lil lady :D Oh and T is still in 0-3 clothes with room to go but I wouldnt say there big on her.

Beenie - lol at liking being kicked up the bum, but agree its nice when people care. Its one of the reasons I wont miss baby massage cos as much of an effort as it is to get there I always feel way better after. Yeay for new pushchair :D Oh and Stick to your guns and keep it at NO! Its so not worth it for £10.

3 - agree with the others about the mat trousers, not your problem.

MFD - that pic of B is soooooo cute :D

EA - Boo at your manager/company! But yeay for making some ££ :D

Sami - eek at your MIL not looking after pets better its not fair on them poor lil things :(

mel - hate car expenses, especially right when you need said car.

SM - hope the job app is a success.

Gym - poor you and Guy :( x

Well baby massage didnt work :( Am currently listening to T cry on the monitor :( She did have a 40 min sleep after but that was it till now. She's really fighting it, I hope we dont have a repeat of last night. I really hope this is cos of the jabs and normal service resumes. Oooh she's starting to go quiet, will give her a lil while longer and fingers crossed.

Picked up our pixi photos this afternoon, talk about flippin expensive!!!! £50 for the first print then £15 for each one after that, MIL wanted to buy one so we got a second but wont do that again. Have already scanned them into the comp so can send copies out bit more MSE.
