I've just rang to see how much a Rug Doctor is to hire. £20 for 24hrs... fine i said. BUT you have to buy the chemicals and that's £10 :eek:

Blimming eck, i don't think i'm *that* bothered about the mucky rug :eek:

Fergie's lovely. The HV is rather worried about his development though and has talked about referral to SALT due to lack of words/comprehension.

So that's sad

He is very smiley and affectionate though

Are you worried about his development Weezl? TBH if the HV recommended that I needed to get Benjamin's development checked out I would tell her where to go. I am so cross on your behalf (Mel has had a similar thing with Kai about his speech). If he was 3 and had no words then that would be one thing but he is 15 months !!!!!!.

Of course if you are worried then that is a different matter but I hate the fact that 'they' worry us so much when we know that all our babies develop at such different rates.


Gingerman is a joy as always - full of cuteness and mischief. I am taking him to see the HV tomorrow cos I am off work...and am ready for a fight if she dare suggest that he is anything other than a normal little boy!

yes my birthday is v soon but I don't even really wear my wedding ring so would be silly to get another ring that I'll rarely wear I just want them because they're gorgeous also :rotfl:at sicky boobs

There was a girl at my work who lived in the same town and she was constantly looking at the rota saying 'oh if we were on the same shift that day I wouldn't have to get the bus'. I just said, 'oh whys that then'?!

Bednall - I say go for it there are pros and cons to any age gap.
My boys are 2.5-ish yrs apart and I'm going for similar next time (hopefully!) I wanted that gap because it's the same as I have with my sister and we are very close friends now and I hope my boys will be close too but I did have to cope with rare daytime naps because Chris stopped having them when Edgar was tiny and we went through potty training while Ed was still BFing alot so we had a few times when I had to put Ed down and leave him crying while I cleaned up an accident/ wiped a dirty bottom. The good bits were that Chris was old enough to understand when I said I had to see to Edgar first on some occasions and the gap is enough that I've not had to buy 2 same stage carseats but not big enough for me to not need a double pram.

So impressed with Samsonite, I've had a four wheel case from them for 5 years and the rubber has just come off two of the wheels so I emailed them thinking I would have to buy replacement wheels or a new case but they sent new wheels for free Just have to fit them now.

2 year gaps between me and my two sisters and all three of us are really close now to the point of us all having our first babies last year

while you are here though, can you tell me about hiring a car for holidays pretty please? how much did you find it for and what car did you get etc we're going to edingburgh in a couple of weeks.

Have you been to the consultant about Fergie's poops yet? you did get referred didn't you I'm taking Ed to the gp about his poops too is Fergie mobile now?

Ah Sami - that reminds me - has anyone looked into the costs involved in buying a roof-rack or top-box? Would that be cheaper than hiring a car?

ooh good point we looked at one a while back but for us storing it when not in use is a problem. IIRC they aren't massively expensive.
We actually think they cheapest option is adding Hubby to FIL's insurance for the week and borrowing his car (volvo estate) as he leaves it at home and gets the train to Edin

I also randomly thought the other day as the Funeral directors down the road were cleaning one of the cars that a funeral car would be really good for a big family, I wonder how expensive they are 2nd hand, surely they'd be in good nick because they rarely go above 30mph??

Nope, not much, 2, 3 wake ups a night. It's killing me. :(
Last night was him cough, cough, coughing all night long and greeted by an awful nappy this morning, so teething again! He's still though!. Its me that's all blurgh!
