  • I would like to nominate the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

    https://www.roycastle.org

A UK charity, which is the only charity in the world dedictated to defeating lung cancer a cancer which kills more people than any other cancers not only in the Uk but world globally.

It is important to find a way of detecting and treating this dreadful disease. Donations to this charity will help with their research into early detection of lung cancer, their work to support lung cancer victims and their families and their work to prevent lung cancer by educating young people in new and innovative ways to help prevent them from starting to smoke.
  • Born Free https://www.bornfree.org.uk.

So much money goes to human charities and we are a nation of animal lovers. Born Free rescues and helps wild animals who have been held in captivity in appalling conditions or treated extremely badly or are trapped in in a zoo that is right in the middle of a war torn area. Without the help of Born Free these animals will die. Wild animals don't have the support that domestic animals have and Born Free tries very hard to make a difference to these poor animals and does a good job with the little resources that it has.

    Thanks
    They call me Mr Pig!
  • I would like to nominate the Make-A-Wish charity UK who provides wishes for children with life threatening illnesses https://www.make-a-wish.org.uk.
I work as a volunteer for this wonderful charity and would like to share what a Mum said to me recently after we had granted her daughters wish. I had asked the best bit of the day to them all and Mum said as she was stroking her sleepy little girls head "it was so lovely to forget about illness for the day and just be a normal family again" This is what Make-A-Wish is all about!

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts I've been Money Tipped!
And again ... Cancer Research please. Most people are touched to some degree by this terrible illness and my brother is suffering with it at the moment.

There will never be enough money ploughed into this charity to combat all the different types of cancer ... certainly not for a long time to come, but every penny counts, so it would be great if we could "do our bit".
    Wins since 2009 = £17,600

    MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS
  • I would like to nopminate Children's Hospice South West. https://www.chsw.co.uk

There is one Hospice at Little Bridge House, Fremington, North Devon and funds are currently being raised for a second Childrens Hospice at Charlton Farm, Bristol.

Children's Hospice South West helps 200 sick children and their families every year.

The families they care for describe the experience they have at Little Bridge House as a 'lifeline' and a 'safe haven'. Children, siblings and parents are given the chance to relax and enjoy themselves, whilst also having the support they need to care for a very sick child. They also recognise the immense value that families find in being amongst those who have similar experiences.

Children's Hospice South West is dedicated to making the most of short and precious lives. With your support, we can continue to care for more children and their families every year.
  • Hi

    Charity name: Winston's Wish

Description: Help for grieving children and their families

    Web site: https://www.winstonswish.org.uk

    Why the nomination:
I'd like to nominate child bereavement charity Winston's Wish. They do no end of good work supporting bereaved children and their families - and if you think about it the fact that either a father or mother dies means the family is worse off financially, so what better charity than one that helps people who need to be MoneySavers?

Disclaimer: I work on their web site, so of course I want to see them do well because I see the results of all their good work!

    Cheers, John

I would like to nominate the Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome Association. It is a small charity that helps victims of CVS, like me. See more at https://www.CVSA.org.uk

I'd like to nominate the National Childbirth Trust.

    Their website is https://www.nct.org.uk

They're a parenting/early childhood charity that campaigns to improve the lot of pregnant women and new parents by lobbying parliament where appropriate and also by providing branch support to women and families locally around the UK and in some countries in Europe.

    Hi
I would like to nominate the Motor Neurone Disease Association - my Mum died this year of this terrible disease. There are many people with MND in this country and it is truely death by instalments. I remember my own Doctor talking to me about it when I was very down and he told me that he sees many terminally ill cancer patients who have a reasonable quality of life until the last few weeks (although obviously not all) but that MND was so desperately sad as the mind is still intact and yet the body shuts down over a couple of years. As it is not as high on the agenda as some other diseases, it does not always get the same publicity - in fact I didn't know much about it until my family was affected. Please consider giving this charity your support - you may wish to visit a website - about John - https://www.johnsjourney.org - a young father of two children who has MND
sorry need to add the official website - got a bit emotional there - https://www.mndassociation.org - "the definitive resource for people with MND and those who care for them" - they offer fantastic support...thank you for your time in reading this post
