Hi there,
I would like to nominate Nelson's Journey https://www.nelsonsjourney.org.uk
They provide a bereavement programme for Norfolk children.
Nelson’s Journey is a very small Norwich based charity. They employ two part time and one full time worker and offer a service throughout Norfolk. They work directly with bereaved children who have lost a significant person in their life e.g. mother, father, brother or sister. Many of the children the charity helps will have experienced and in some cases witnessed a violent death e.g. murder, suicide, road traffic accident, brain haemorrhage etc, other deaths will have been caused by long term illnesses such as cancer. They work with the child to address any feelings of anger, confusion or guilt surrounding the death. The charity estimates there are 250 bereaved children in Norfolk each year, currently they are only able to help up to 50. With extra funding they will be able to increase the numbers of children they can work with.
Thanks for reading

Having had a grandmother and a mother sucumb to Alzheimers, on a purely personal level, I would very much like to see a donation going to https://www.alzheimers.org.uk You may not be aware but there is a plan in the pipeline by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) to only prescibe patients with moderate symptoms the drugs Aricept, Exelon and Reminyl. They say the drugs, which cost about £2.50 a day per patient are too expensive. It seems that too many of us are living longer and falling foul of this condition. It is imperative for all patients to be prescribed these drugs. Thank You for reading this message.0

I wish to nominate Beacon Centre for the Blind
https://www.beacon4blind.co.uk
Provides wide variety of services to visually impaired.
Beacon Centre enables blind and partially-sighted people in the West Midlands to lead active lives by providing residential accommodation, day care, resources, training, youth services, holidays and social activities for all ages.
New legislation requires us to invest substantially in upgrading the standard of our residential accommodation or face closure.
Because government forecasts predict a rise of 35% in visual impairment within 15 years we are taking this opportunity to redevelop our site to extend the range of services we provide to meet this increased need.
Situating all our services in one purpose-built facility would mean economy in utilities and maintenance, enabling us to extend our work to a wider public. £10 million is secured leaving £3 million to be raised over the next 3 years.
Beacon Centre provides the region with a unique and vital service.0 -
I would like to nominate 'Andreas Gift' - Raising Awareness For Those Suffering From Brain Tumours
http://www.andreasgift.org.uk/index.htm
Why?
1. Brain tumour research is under-funded and the public, in general, is unaware of the magnitude of the problem.
2. Brain tumours are the second most common malignancy in children after leukaemia
3. There is a 5% to 10% annual increase in paediatric brain tumours
4. The cure rate for brain tumours is significantly lower than that for most other types of cancer
5. Lack of funding into the treatment of malignant brain tumours means survival rates are no better than they were 40 years ago
6. Approximately only one third of patients survive for five years following the diagnosis of a primary or malignant brain tumour
7. Around 4,150 new cases of primary brain tumours are diagnosed in the UK each year
8. Brain tumours are the second leading cause of cancer death in children under age 15 and in young adults up to age 34
9. There are over 120 different brain tumours, making effective treatment very complicated
I hope moneysavers can help to support our cause

Can I please nominate the two following charities which are dear to me
Breast Cancer
Multiple Sclerosis
Many thanks0 -
I would like to nominate the National Autistic Society
There web page is http://www.nas.org.uk
there isn't enough research done, most people have heard about it but tend to shy away from it,Aspergers is part of the sydrome and when people see these people they look normal this opens the person up to being bullied and made fun of.These adults and children require so much help, but unlikely to get it due to lack of resources, 1 in 110 (NAS Figues) people can be affected by autism so in the county we live in there is 417,000 people which means 3791 people are affected but there is roughly 400 people diagnozed
This money would help in highlighting Autism if you don't give to NAS i hope that this message would make you at least stop and think about it
Many thanks for your time0 -
There are so many causes needing support it is going to be a difficult choice. However there have been a few nominations for individual hospices so I thought I would add a nomination for Help the Hospices - reg charity number 1014851They help to support over 200 separate hospices across the UK so might be more appropriate for this site which is national rather than local0

Want to save money? Then SPW is the most cost efficient and effective way to give young people in Africa the message about AIDS prevention. Young people share with other young people to really make a difference.

I would like to nominate a charity I run called 'Full Stop 2 Bullying.
a) Full Stop 2 Bullying!
b) http://hometown.aol.co.uk/ellelouiselang/bullying.html
c) Aimed to prevent hurt & suffering from bullying!
d) I currently run this charity and fund it myself. Sadly while a lot of children are enjoying the summer holidays many will already be getting frightened about returning to school. Full Stop 2 Bullying provides training in schools and the workplace and also provides 24 hour email to counsel children and all those affected by bullying. As mentioned it is currently self funded though I have received some donations - this enables me to provide the training at a minimal or free to schools.
The children are our future and deserve a right to feel safe.

I would like to nominate the National Childbirth Trust. Their aim is to give all parents an experience of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood that enriches their lives and gives them confidence in the massive job of being a parent. On a national level, they campaign for changes in government and hospital policy, and on a local level, they provide antenatal classes, breastfeeding counsellors and lots of support services to new parents.
