'If you would like to let other visitors to this site know the URL of your own web site, enter it here.' So you wouldn't be breaking any rules. If you are starting your own business every little bit of advertising counts!

Good luck - as the saying goes "just turning up is 90% of the secret of success" and I'm sure you have the guts to do it !

My wife has just finished work (made redundant) to refocus her energies from being ultra-stressed and letting others take the glory to helping us develop our own business to bring in some revenue - its not easy but you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find the right business for you (think Henry Ford had 19 failed businesses before developing Ford Motor Co.).

Just keep at it and believe in yourself - covers a lot of other things as well !

Keep my fingers xed !

You sound like you have an old house - large rooms? How about letting a film crew rent it out? I know someone who did this and they had an old but def. not posh house! Didn't make a fortune but was fun and they decorated for her as well!!

Thanks so much, I have had so many great suggestions since starting this thread now i can get my teeth into looking into them further:)
Didint do the magazine ones yet bcos i wanted to wait til the hearing re. the house had gone and things had calmed down here. But I will do them now (thanks again Spendless:))
And I already have people interested in my business, and people wanting to work for me!!!

Sarah, I know you live in Leicester - as i do. Have you seen that this weekend there is free swimming in Leicester City council pools. I know you said it is hard work taking all your children at once but it is just a thought. Perhaps a friend could go with you.

Are you fluent in any foreign languages? I work as an interpreter for 2 local councils and interpret at dentists/doctors/hospitals/schools/court/solicitors/estate agents/benefits agency etc. I'm employed on a sessional basis and can decide which jobs I do and do not want to do depending on whether I'm free or not, so it's very flexible. It pays quite well (one council pays £10 an hour and the other £25 an hour, both pay for time spent travelling to and from jobs and also mileage or transport fares)

You can also do translating work from home if that suits you too.

You need a voucher from the Leicester Mercury. It's in the "The Week" supplement which was free with thursdays paper if you can get hold of one or I think you can buy one for 50p at newsagents. Sorry, I didn't realise this when I first posted.
