Thanks for that this should help loads of people looking for finance and what CRA they use....

Actually British Gas is listed under utilities, reporting to Experian, Zerog was probably just adding that they also report to CC (I can second that actually, for both Gas & Elec).

This may well be useful for someone who wants to know whether a utility company reports to CRAs, many don't (Southern Elec didn't report to any for me, but did search Equifax when I joined then).

    Hi Underground,
newbie here.....Firstly - EXCELLENT work here, thanks in advance.

K, We (wife and I !) finished an IVA last year. The details are now falling off EQ and EX as just passed 6 year mark. looking to build up credit rating now... we have a mobile contract (for 10 years+), and a standard bank account (for 5 years+) already. Wife just got a 'granite' CC accepted (they searched EX BTW). Have our mortgage and a £50 overdraft facility - that's it. We have a fair amount of joint income, and plenty of 'disposable' income. Do you think I'd get accepted for a mainstream CC (which one, dont want to touch LTSB, Goldfish, MBNA....cant remember the other one!), or better to go for a 'bad credit' CC? I'd appreciate ideas as I dont want to apply for something standard if I aint got a prayer yet of getting it!! (Dont want to spoil my zero searchs on the CRA's!!)

    Appreciate any input guys....:D

i am in a similar situation as you. how did you get on with this ??

Hi - Does anyone have recent experience of which credit ref. agency , or agencies, any of these banks have searched for a credit credit card application recently?

    MBNA / Virgin?
    RBS / Natwest?
    Nationwide?

    Many thanks!

With me, MBNA searched Experian only, and Natwest (also RBS) searched both Experian and Equifax.

I havent applied for anything from Nationwide, so dont know about them

Experian search Experian only and report to all three, Experian, Equifax, and Call Credit.
