    Hello all

Just had a thread refresh and repaired some broken links.

Noticed the following whilst clicking through:
    • Leeds Building Society seem to no longer offer a credit card (originally issued by Barclaycard)
    • ipoints has become maximiles and a credit card is no longer offered (originally issued by HBOS)
    • Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest loans are only available to their current account customers
Thanks to everyone for their continued information and input.

    Regards

First Trust Bank search Equifax only for Basic Bank accounts - that is the only initial account available outside Northern Ireland , however all accounts are open to existing customers UK wide (foot in the door) :D

But you must go into branch to begin with - not much use to me 400 miles away lol

The basic account can be opened by post easily ;)

Although I have found opening their other accounts far from straightforward - there is a possibility that they will move out of the dark ages and offer a debit card in the future and online applications

They already have online applications for credit cards (although non NI applicants have to contact their branch)

    Morning matey

This is for finance though isn't it? Not like a sygma bank card? I think people are getting confused, if it is a sygma bank related product then the search is specific to Equifax. Their duet or store credit may differ. :D

p.s. you old fart! 109 years old already!! The Curious case of Proliant Button lol

How easy is the Northern Rock account to get? Did they search Experian, Equifax or both? Is it a cheque card or like a full debit card? Same goes to the Leeds card if you can please - cheers matey

They seem to alter the CRA at random, for example I applied for Creation retail finance e.g. Curry’s, PC World etc and they searched Equifax, tried another company and they searched Experian.
Not sure what the Creation store cards search but without worsening my already cooked credit files and applying I am not 100% sure which CRA they use for store cards.

I opened the Northern Rock account about 20 years ago when they first offered them (they were paying £10 to open the account)- so I suspect that things have changed since then (perhaps not - bearing in mind its Northern Rock )

I received a cheque book and Link card and upgraded the Link card about 10 years ago

All Link cards are being converted into Visa Debit cards

Here's a link to the letter received from Northern Rock 16774n6.jpg

Leeds was about 10 years ago when they first offered the account and I received the cheque book and £100 cheque card (no debit card facility)

I would say both accounts are very easy get

Someone else has applied for the Leeds account on the banking board recenty

Neither accounts report account conduct to the CRAs - but then my accounts were opened a long time ago
