They search both Experian and Equifax. Varies from app to app.

Santander (ex-GE Capital) report to Equifax

Sntandr Crds Uk Cred Svs Ltd (Asda) (I)

First Trust Bank search Equifax only for Basic Bank accounts - that is the only initial account available outside Northern Ireland , however all accounts are open to existing customers UK wide (foot in the door) :D
(I have Capital One Equifax alerts and ordered my £2 Experian file a few months after my application) _party_

I applied for a loan with A&L in '08 and the searched Call Credit, although I suppose this doesn't matter now that it's all Santander.
