I just applied for Bank of Scotland credit card and they actually searched my Equifax, So thats Barclays current account and BOS credit card that have both not done me on experian so that explains my low credit limit.

I so need a guaranteed Experian only Credit card !

I spoke to Britannia who told me that they only search Experian......I asked them to double check as I wanted to check my credit file etc first and she said 'definitely'. I know they don't have a credit card but they have just merged with Co-op who do. If you look on the Co-op application stuff, it links you to creditexpert (experian) for checking your credit file first.

Hope this helps! I'm in the same position - no problems with experian but on my equifax and cc files the arrange ment to pay my mortgage (when I was off work ill) is showing and massively bringing my 'lendability' down.

I thought Halifax and BOS would be the same?

They are (HBOS)! They both search Experian (for both bank account and credit cards) unless something adverse shows in which case they will revert to a secondary CRA search with another CRA, this is sometimes CC and sometimes EQ.

See here for a full explanation: #7760

Argh - a decline for Co-op credit card. So annoying. I spoke to them and they said it was not because of my credit score, but because when they have looked at an account, there are some late payments. There are - but not on experian (who they told me they use) and the ones that are on my equifax and cc files are pretty old.

I asked the guy at the co-op and he said that they use all the credit file companies. Again, pretty annoyed because I phoned to ask in advance and they told me experian.

Can confirm with Scott that Tesco Loans do use Equifax

Can somebody confirm that Sgyma Credit Cards appear on both Credit Expert and Equifax? I know at the front of this post it says it reports on both - but currently they only show on my Equifax and not on Credit Expert.

Maybe it takes longer to set up on Credit Expert?

    Thanks in advance

    Does anyone exclusivly search CallCredit?

Also why are they the most least used ones out of the three?

No - Monument were the only ones to exclusively search CallCredit.

They are least used cos they are !!!!!! - put bluntly! :D
