Title of this thread is: Its a wonderful life... Want to try.....?? A Single parents View.. !!xx!

Well, here's another single parent's view - DD2 punctured her bicycle tyre last week. I've never repaired one before so what do I do? I'm on benefits, so budget, budget, budget, but we're not poor - far from it. Benefits ARE enough to live quite comfortably on. They just don't always stretch to a brand new tyre!

Anyway, I am today a proud single mommy, because I bought a repair kit from poundland and fixed my first ever puncture!

Many single parents are not on benefits by choice - there are childcare issues, sick children, single parents who cannot work due to illness, but there is a choice in how you handle being a single parent. My advice to the OP is to not sit at home with nothing to do - do some voluntary work
https://www.do-it.org has hundreds of voluntary jobs so you could find something that suits you, in your local area.

By careful budgeting, my children enjoy ice skating, horse riding, dance lessons, holidays etc, and I'm a very happy single mommy thanks

I don't know where it comes from as I don't pry that much into my parents personal circumstances so neither should you. It's non of my business or yours.

True but it isnt the basic state pension so you shouldnt be saying it is.

I think the upsetting thing about this thread is that it was started for what reason? to cry and get sympathy? because I have a tough life I have little money but I dont go up to people saying your life is easier then mine because how could I possibly know that. Like how can single mothers know their lives are the hardest? they dont.

    Think you missed the point.
