Yes Borgs, they are the standard things to do with a PJ to ensure longevity. Worth doing some reading over at AVForums once you have bought a PJ.Be nice0

One more thing people out there who have one....
Is the exhaust on the back or the side? i've looked at shots on Toshiba's website and there are vents at the back, but they dont look substantial enough to cool the lamp so im guessing it's on the right as you look into the lens - which would be great cause side mounted makes for a much easier install in my small room...
Can someone let me know?
Thanks heaps,

Maybe I'd do better posting this on AV forums but here goes...
Bought a MT200 and also a TV mount bracket. Fitted the TV Mount towards the ceiling. Put the MT200 into "ceiling mounted" setting - thought that would be that. Nope. Obviously the proper MT200 ceiling mount puts the projector upside-down. Since mine was the right way up, this resulted in an upside-down picture.
Did everyone but me know this happens, lol?? Is there any way around it? Thought of putting the projector upside-down but am worried I will damage it. Not least because it will then be resting on the picture-size-adjust-knob.
OZMONEYSAVER: the air intake and outtake are on either side of the proj.0 -
Don't put the projector in ceiling mount mode.
Its that mode that turns the picture upside down ( because it expects a ceiling mount to fix the projector upside down).0 -
it still wont work for you as the image is still thrown upwards from the centre of the lens up.
If you place the projector on a DIY mount ie TV mount and do not have the projector upside down the the image will be thrown on to the ceiling.
Thats why proper ceiling mounts require the projector to be mounted upside down hence the image is then thrown downwards.
Also to the person who questioned the wisdom of buying a proper screen for this projector. You have to keep in mind that this projector is a proper £1000 projector going for a very silly price. Would you question buying a screen for a projector that cost £1000.
£150 for a remote controlled screen is again a very low price and will certainly look a lot better both aethetically and image wise than a cheapy blackout blind.
Also please get your facts straight, component is a high quality image delivery system but its still analouge which means that the signal is still degraded by the time it is output.
This projector will accept a digital signal as it has a DVI connection hence no degradation.
And of course the projector does not have a speaker. No modern day projectors these days have speakers.0 -

Thanks, looks good, but its £15 for delivery and insurance and £8 for the stand, doesn't anyone in the UK sell these?0 -
FEvans, I hate to correct you but....
This Projector is no longer worth anywhere near £1000. Yes, you can buy a proper screen, but I have a blackout blind screen made myself, and the quality is excellent.
I would strongly advise anybody to buy a blackout screen roller blind from B&Q, try it, and return it if you dont think the picture quality is good enough.
Component output tends to give better results with most PJ's than DVI. Search AVForums and you will see that a lot of people revert back to component... its the same with the Xbox 360. I reverted to Component myself.
If you have the PJ near the ceiling, but not upside down, then you will have to position the PJ almost diagonally down in order to get the image on the screen. You will also then need to use keystone correction to straighten the image or it will appear a lot wider at the bottom than at the top. Keystone isnt good, because you are digitally altering the image.Be nice0
