I'm tempted, is the bulb idiot proof? I don't want to end up blowing the bulb before 3000 hours!
  • isnt it covered for at least 1 year under normal guarentee?

My old projector was 1000 lumens and too dim to use as a TV on a bright day so I can't imagine a 750 being much use...
    I think....

I think the bulb is guaranteed for 90 days as it's a consumable part.

The PJ is a good 1.
The bulb can blow prematurely, its not guaranteed, a bit like a house bulb.
The PJ will have an eco mode where the bulb is not at full power (this is how it reaches 3000 hours).
Even on full power, you will only be able to watch a PJ if you watch at night, or you use black out lining behind your curtains to give your room a very dark setting.. otherwise you will just get a washed out image.

Still, its an amazing experience. Ive had 2 PJ's and never looked back :)
The only downside to this model is the throw. If you have a small room you will struggle to get a big image because you have to put it so far away from the wall you are projecting onto :(

I used a wall mounted portable tv bracket ( drill 4 holes to screw the projector to the bracket ) and mount it upside down, this was about £8, also i got an 8ft white bathroom blind £18 for a screen (ceiling mounted) all from IKEA. Both of these do an excellent job. If you look on ebay the blinds sell at £45 these are the same as the IKEA ones
    I hope this helps

Yep, an Ikea blind is fine. Any blackout lining will do. I bought some wood, made a frame, and then stretched 2.8m x 1.6m around the frame for a permanent screen. Blackout lining is £5 per 1m length (1.6m width)
