    Hi.

I know someone who works for Pixmania and I can tell you one thing. If you want to blame someone, blame those idiots who put orders through for over 50 TVs. They are the ones who aroused suspicion and drew attention to the mistake. If it has not been for these individuals, all of you would have received your TVs. Personally, I would NEVER have posted an opportunity like this on any of these forums as it attracts people who will ruin it for the rest.

True but some businesses having been alerted by rapacious idiots then went ahead with the orders for anyone who only ordered 1 (in some cases 2).

I would post on here but only after my order is accepted and delivery is arranged!
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.

    Dear xxxxxxxx,

Following our previous communication, we would like to offer our most sincere apologies regarding the price issue you have encountered on the Pixmania internet site. Pixmania counts more than 7 million customers therefore be completely reassured that the company has always placed customer satisfaction at the center of its strategy.

Although we fully understand your disappointment, we have no doubt you will comprehend that due to the extreme price difference caused by a very unfortunate human error, your order could not be fulfilled.

However and in order to overcome this very unfortunate situation, Pixmania would like to offer you as a goodwill gesture a £25 voucher valid on any item on our website www.pixmania.com for an order over £150.

This voucher will be valid for 6 months. Please enter this code when placing your order under “Do you have a promotional code?”: xxxxxxxxxx and the £25 will be deducted from your order.

We would like once again to apologise for this very inconvenient situation. We hope that we have acted with enough reactivity for you to keep your trust in our company.

    Sincerely yours,
    Team Pixmania

    I got the same email.

They didnt have to offer the voucher, but I might use it as theres a couple of lenses I want for my camera. Highly unlikey though. I have no Tv and NO money as its on hold in paypal still.

Although they could have done it for a lessor spend £150 is a bit a bit high.

I personally think the voucher is just more proof that they have had a lot of people complaining about this. If they were really such a nice company, this voucher would've been sent out as part of the cancellation email. Seems more like desperation than good customer service to me.

An apology & a £25 off voucher. Not bad.

So much for those saying people would get nothing & that complaining was pointless.

Complaining to people that complaining is pointless is ironically pointless!!!

    pg28.........

Price Waterhouse Coopers (french site) seem to think that if it is business to meek consumer it is the law of the consumer that is applicable.

It's an EU directive. Which UK & French laws apply this directive?
Directives only become law in a member state when included into that country's law.

    ETA

Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002
Regulation 4(4) of the E Commerce Regulations allows businesses the freedom to choose the applicable law and is also intended to aid non-UK consumers. A UK-based business, even if trading via the Internet outside the UK, still has to comply with UK requirements. This does not preclude action being taken against a trader for breaches of legislation outside the UK.

Pixmania being French picks French law.
