blimey Mrs McCawber that's a fantastic loss! I'm very envious - and well done to you! Hello to new people. My experience was (1) joined a class when it was just original and green - I did rubbish on it, possibly my own fault. (2) tried to do extra easy on my own, I think I concentrated on the "extra" bit, still didn't lose anything. (3) joined a class, had it explained, got the books, and I go every week and stay for the dull bit just because I know it will make me do it properly, and I've lost over one stone, with just another stone to go so I am happy about that, slow but sure. And I still concentrate on the "extra" because I do like my food :) but I hardly eat out now because I find it way too difficult/depressing to be watching what I'm eating when I'm paying those prices (pay for boiled rice? you've got to be joking!)
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

im so with you on the eating out thing - even when i was doing low carb i really resented paying a fortune for a steak and salad when i could so easily cook it better at home

i have a question i wonder if Consultant may be able to answer pls - or anyone more knowledgeable than me really lol

ok so stock cubes are all listed as syn free
when i cook a roast chicken i save all the juice and fat and put the whole lot in the freezer - when i need to use it i leave it to defrost for about 5 mins then im able to lever the whole layer of fat off in one solid block so all im left with is pure chicken jelly
would i be able to use that when making the syn free onion gravy or to flavour cous cous without having to syn it ? theres no fat there ?
the stock cubes are a little artifical and always so salty imo

many thanks - hope ive explained it ok :)

Yes this is the way I do it too. The fat comes away so easy once it's been in the fridge for a while and it makes a lovely base for soups too - all syn free :)

MRSMCAWBER - what a star you are.....7lbs in week 4 is excellent :T

Some SW stuff, like using cottage cheese instead of sour cream is a revelation, there is hardly any difference in taste or feel, so I cant see me ever going back to buying sour cream again.

I've been using natural yogurt for this. I can't get my head around this but if it is so close I might give it a try.
Is it just plain cottage cheese blended?

    Thanks:D
