I think I would like it if people took turns to take sample food along EVERY week, with recipes to hand out. Not a full tasting session which takes up the whole hour, but something for people to try out. I don't suppose that is easy to organise, though.
What slows things down, I think, and makes it really dull, is the way the Consultant goes through her little hand-held computer name by name. Some people have left the meeting; it all takes time and people start to chat among themselves. One week her computer wouldn't work and instead she went round the room from one end of the semicircle to the other talking about gains and losses and hints - it was much faster and really more fun!:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

Went to the cinema this evening - I was really worried about having to sit there not nibbling on the minstrels and peanut m and m's that I'd normally have (only go about twice a year lol) so when we nipped into Tesco to buy sweets and drinks I got myself a 500g pack of grapes to munch on. All I kept thinking was I could have sooooo much chocolate for this £2.26 I'm spending on grapes  They'd all gone before the film had started - damn those trailers :rotfl: Not ideal to eat the whole pack but gotta be better than chocolate!! Had about two gulps of my drink before I realised I'd picked up normal pepsi instead of diet, so couldn't even have a drink during the film
No idea how many syns pepsi has so wasn't prepared to risk it especially after the chinese I had on Weds eve - it was beef and mushrooms and about 1/3 portion of special fried rice. Again no idea how many syns so have been trying to claw some back since then!!
Didn't go to WI last week as we had family down from Hereford (hence the chinese treat), so if when I go this Weds I've lost a pound over the two weeks I will be happy
PS.... the grapes weren't that niceSome people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass0 -

Yesterday I made the Chili Beef Noodles, both me and hubby loved it, though perhaps there were a bit too much noodles but the taste was fantastic.
Today I made the Cottage Pie...Very disappointing. It looks unappetising _pale_ and was very tasteless. The kids hardly touched theirs. I will not make this recipe again
Chilli beef noodles sound yummy - can you post the recipe? :jStart weight - 13st 6lbs

Serves: 4
Syns per serving:
Free on Extra Easy and Green*
*Add 6 Syns if not using steak as a Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice
12oz/340g sirloin steak, all visible fat removed
1 tbsp soy sauce
½ tsp crushed dried chillies
½ red, yellow and green pepper
1 carrot
300g pack dried egg noodles
Fry Light
1. Prepare the stir-fry ingredients: cut the steak into strips, place in a bowl with the soy sauce and crushed chillies and marinate in the fridge for at least 10 minutes; slice the peppers and carrot; cook the noodles according to packet instructions, drain and
set aside.
2. Heat a wok sprayed with Fry Light and stir-fry in soy sauce and chillies for 2-3 minutes. Add the peppers and carrot and continue frying until softened. Add the noodles, heat through and serve.
Tip: You could replace the steak with 1lb/454g chicken or 1lb/454g pork. Ensure the meat is thoroughly cooked before adding the vegetables (the Syns remain the same).

I know how you feel! I go to the cinema weekly at least usually, and last night i took my lunch - a quorn sausage sandwich, two bananas and a bottle of juice! I hate spending money on those silly prices as well, so it saves a fortune. I could smell the popcorn and secretly hoped someone would choke on some:rotfl:
Mrs McA - congratulations! That is fantastic!:j I wonder is your large fruit consumption helping?

I felt very guilty having alcohol over the weekend, but on Friday i got drenched in the rain, and by the time I got to the pub, i was like " diet? Sod the diet, give me cider!! ":rotfl:
Managed to resist lots of crisp opportunities, and even naan bread last night and i ADORE nan bread! SO am doing an awful lot better although i didn't eat a lot of fruit over the past day or so so will work on that.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
