It's a franchise operation (ie: you buy in and are basically your own boss) but all your training is free and you can attend as often as you like (with it being mandatory every two years, though I think it ought to be annually).
You're right, there is so much to talk about and I think, since your Consultant doesn't do it, maybe you should. When it comes to your turn to be singled out, just say "while you're with me, I'd like to mention that such-and-such is on offer at x amount in Asda this week, does anyone know of any other offers?". I'm sure that other people will be able to come up with something (specially if you pre-warn them you're going to ask). The Consultant is being very short-sighted by not doing this sort of thing herself - I wonder if she's just care-taking the group till a new Consultant comes along. It's obvious that members will flock to a group where they get useful information and a happy, relaxed atmosphere.
I've got a good 3 stone to lose before target (only started 3 months ago) so becoming a consultant is not something I'll be undertaking for a while yet. Especially as it seems from the little bit of research I've done that I'd have to save up quite a lot to buy into the franchise. I'd be worried sick that I wouldn't make the money back...
Unfortunately my current Consultant isn't care taking, in fact she told us that she's been wanting to run our group for months and even left her successful group in a nearby town to do it. I've considered talking to her about getting some of my ideas included in the session, but don't want her to feel like I'm telling her how to do her job, especially after getting shot down over requesting a taster evening. (Personally I don't understand why a taster with a small amount of people can't work - it just means there's less to cater for!) I think if I ran my own group it would cost me a fortune in food - I'd be forever wanting to make things for people to try when I discovered something nice.
It will definitely be interesting to see how a session in another area is run. Our old consultant would do proper 'talks' with themes around meals for Valentines, pancake day etc, and the raffles would be massive bowls of fruit & veg or cooking equipment brought with the proceeds of the week before; now there are just three prizes all of which cost under £1 each (last week for example, celery, strawberries & some microwave pots) - it's no wonder people feel like they're being short changed when the tickets themselves cost £1! Such a shame, because she's a lovely lady; it's hard to understand how she's gone from running a successful group to ours becoming like a ghost town.
Fingers crossed my next group is an improvement anyway, even if it's just because I'll get to weigh in a morning before the pounds creep on againMortgage: [STRIKE]08/13 £28,896.49[/STRIKE] 01/18 £00 -

Hiya,
I've been reading back and was wondering if someone could tell me what Marion's rice was? ( Hi Marion, it's delly from the old old LW threads).
Thanks,
Deebee.
Hiya!:j:j:j Nice to "see you"
My pudding rice - Cook 1/2 cup of pudding rice in 1 cup of water for about 20 minutes (I use my remoska). Remove from heat put into a bowl, add fruit and a complementing muller yogurt and mix together! ie rice with sliced banana and toffee yogurt, rice with frozen blueberrys and a blueberry yogurt (if you can find the blueberry yogurt!) , rice with mandarin segments (chopped) and mandarin yogurt. For best results eat straight away while it is nice and warm! Tastes really nice and is very very filling! Also free on SW green and EE so can be made any time you fancy it really!
Another combination that tastes great is the vanilla yogurt with the chocolate bits in with a chopped banana and of course the rice, and I have also tried a bit of stewed rhubarb (synned of course) with vanilla yogurt and tiny sprinkle of ginger - nice on a cold morning!
Love
Marion:)When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -

Can I ask.......
Do those who have had significant overall weight loss drink a lot of water.
I have followed the plan and lost 5Ib in 5 weeks but put 3 back on during * week so I am failing miserably. I hate water.
Hi all:j Yippee - someone else who doesn't/can't drink water. I have real problems trying to drink a lot of water - in fact, any large amount of liquid LOL. Even as a kid I could never finish a can of pop, but always thought it was because of the bubbles. Now I've realised one of the problems is that I can't drink very cold anything - I much prefer tepid water to cold, for instance, weird I know. And as much as I try to drink more, I really find it very difficult. I have 3 or 4 cups of tea per day, but no other drinks at all. I too haven't lost loads of weight, it comes off really slowly & I am now STS most of the time, after losing about 10-12lb over quite a long time. Part of that is not sticking to plan, I know that - but I'd love to know the answer to the water question too:D
Just started writing everthing down in a book, trying not to cheat!

Thanks C l a i r e and Marion for the rice recipie. It looks so delicious it should have syns.
Day one went well for me, today will be the real struggle I think as this is normally the day I take buns to my parents house, its something I do every saturday morning but I think it's going to have to stop.:(
I see most of you plan your days' eating ahead I'm not sure I'd be that organised, I quite like to get creative as I'm starting to get peckish.
MRSMCAWBER can I come and live in your house? Your eating plan looks delicious.0 -
Hi all
Hope everyone is ok.
I cant find that quark facebook page now, will keep digging!
I wondered ( it it takeiteazy) who counts thier points in a week? Does everyone do this or do it by day?
I might start doing this today along with going to get properly weighed at the boots machine, it seems like it might work out better for me.
Today, I have a few paperworky type things to do at home, so will be here most of the day. Hea as ever is skimmed milk, HEB will be the alpen lite bars.
Eating now a huge gorgeous fruit salad made of pineapple ( yes loads of bargins around lol :T) strawberrys and blackberrys and half a FF yoghurt ( trying to eat less for thrift!)
Thinking of getting the portion of Quorn chilli out of the freezer for lunch seeing as its just me and having with a jacket pot or a sweet potato jacketed with a bit of salad and cottage cheese
Dinner will be that pork & quark mustard recipe with wild rice carrot batons and some sort of other veggies will have to dig about see whats here.
Am going to try hard not to eat too many syns
Does anyone find that thier buying is a bit random, I have thrown more food away opver the last few weeks than ever before in my life, finding it quite hard to meal plan - cant wait for these recipe books to turn up!
Hope everyone has a lovely day:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

c_l_a_i_r_e wrote: »Diane I don't think green tea counts towards water intake because of the caffeine in it but it has so many other benefits its a great choice of drink. I love it, its the only tea I drink:) Don't pressure yourself into drinking loads of water, I'd just try and drink what you can in the meantime and see how you get on.
Hiya Deebee, welcome to the thread - here is Marion's rice recipe.
My Consultant said a while back that drinking green tea helps weight loss.I've tried desperately to drink it but unfortunately don't like the taste of it.:(
