The ingredients apart from oil and water are - emulsifier, soya lectin, E473, Alcohol, antioxidant and Vitamin E. :

Re the fry lite, I really don't think any of those ingredients and 'bad' We all know what oil and water are. Soya lectin is an emulisfier and there is no suggestion that its bad . In fact a few studies have suggested it actually can lower cholestrol

E473 is a sugar ester of a fatty acid, which may sound horrific but is just a mix of fat and sugar and is broken down by the body the same as fat and sugar.

And antioxidant (vitamin E) is just a molecule that prevents oxidation over time . ie it prevents the oil from changing chemically.

phew took me two hours but i have read it all!

MY OPINION:1. you can eat SUPER FREE food as much as you like and still lose weight.
2.you can lose weight every week, i joined on the 29th september 2009, i lost 4lb in my first week, there are only 6 weeks were i have not lost weight to present.
    3. i KNOW i eat differently in those weeks when i didnt lose weight, i was NOT folowing the plan.
just to add this week i lost 3lb which bring my total to 3 stone 4lb.
my consultants (2nd one joined us 2 weeks ago) HAVE been good.
i have up my excersise regim overhalled the food/drink i have put in my mouth.
i have also read this and alll the other SW thread everyday for support i need.
right off the soap box, have a good week folks.x

I'm sorry if I gave the impression that you shouldn't snack at all. Of course you can, but ideally you should be snacking on superfree foods after having filling, nutritious meals. It's obvious to me that if you have say a packet of pasta n sauce for lunch you will be hungry in a couple of hours. Snacking on cake made from couscous or mock Doritos made from lasagne sheets is so plainly not what any 'normal' person would do and will have a detrimental effect on your weight loss.

    .

    Thanks for the help.
I think I want to have some kind of magic formula that means I can snack all day and that isn't possible. I do tend to eat fairly healthily but we have biscuits and cakes on the side at work and it is hard to resist. I have been doing EE and using my HEB for 2 alpen light bars which I am having as snack bars during the day, however the meal I am struggling with is breakfast. I don't think I want to have pasta or rice for breakfast but I would like some carbs to keep me going until lunch and would like to not use my HEB so I can have the snack bars.

A friend from work just brought in a little SW book with 50 original and 50 green recipes and one of them is a breakfast egg and chips, great for the weekend but not so easy on a work day. It does say serves 4 but there is a note to say that it is free on both plans and so you can eat the whole thing if you want. So, I guess munch away at meal times and try and make sensible snack choices, lots of fruit etc, but I would rather have a small portion of rice or pasta between meals than give in and eat some cake! I guess, as with most things, it is all about being sensible with it.

If I were to start with an EE day and not have any meat at all, but get to the end of the day and really want some bread would that work with the plan? To convert myself to a green day? What else would be different? I confess I still have no real idea how the original and green days work, have been to 4 SW sessions, with 4 different consultants so far (they have changed, location and time etc have been the same!) so don't feel very supported for my money!

    Thanks again

Ok, so i'm eating my swiss roll. Verdict... not bad.

Oh and tin foil is not very good if you have no bakin paper. Lost half the cake to it. .

I love the swiss roll, so try not to make it very often ! :o
Quick question though - I use baking paper and still end up losing half the cake to it - what am I doing wrong ? Should I spray the damn paper with frylight ? I am removing the paper when the cake is hot/warm and cold and makes no difference - grrrrr.:(
Or should I just shut up and put up ?
    thanks

You can have some cereal for breakfast and if you don't want to use it as HEB you can syn it, it's not too many syns (I know because I had a half helping - 21g - of all bran for breakfast then decided to have Ryvita minis as my HEB so have synned the All bran)
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

I did look up each ingredient - I understand all you have said, however I personally prefer not to have unecessary additives in my diet. That's one of the big reasons I cook from scratch .

I actually seen an advertisement about the frylight in the SW mag last night which mentioned it can lower cholestrol :) (but i didn't read in detail). If people are more aware of reading labels and knowing what's in their food, all the better :) Frylight just isn't for me personally. Each to their own though :)

    Hi Sian :D

I found EE wasn't for me as I'm not a regular meat eater. If you eat EE all day, then decided at the end of the day to turn into green that is ok (providing you have eaten all green free food all day) - the differences as I understand are

Green is 2 HEB and 1or2HEA
    EE is one of each.

If you had meat , you could always HEB it, then still have another HEB left for toast or cereal bars if that makes sense? :o

i think I am going to try a mix2max day today as I fancy bacon ! (But i want loads, and don't want to syn it or HEB it) :j

Congrats on the brilliant losses folks!

I am thanking every post in here, but they seem to dissapear so if I haven't thanked you, please don't take it personally :)

I kinda agree with you. Essentially a healthy diet should consist of cooking things from scratch using natural ingredients. I do prefer the taste of cooking with oil and sometimes I'm willing to sacrifice my syns to have that. Other time I 'need' my syns for chocolate and cake and wine so am prepared to use frylite.

I don't really use very low spread or anything as (i think) it is pretty rank and would rather do without. I do quite like very low fat mayo (maybe I've forgot who good real mayo is). Its a balance, essentially we can't have everything we want to eat (thats why we all need to diet in the first place!)
