Well made it back to work yesterday - OH got called out of work tho cos of daughter. DD went on to spike a temp of over 40 / 104! Some scary moments! But back under control now. Had to work from home today to look after her as OH and MIL were at a funeral. She's had to go to MIL's tonight as I need to focus on keeping my job. MIL is better at looking after her when she's ill than me tho - she has more patience.
In work tomorrow and then back to hospital Thursday for another test. My arm and hand has been doing much better today. Swelling on fingers seems to have gone down - still taking strong pain killers tho but at least I have almost full movement back.... I was going to take Thurs pm off to relax and go shopping but wonder whether it would be better politically to go in work.
Checked out sick pay entitlement. I should be paid in full this time - good job I checked tho as if they hadn't updated it immediately yesterday payroll would have run and I would have been significantly underpaid. Just hope the person did what they promised in time.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well got through another day at work
Great as I saw a top in M&S today that I wanted for £18 - couldn't believe it when I got the vouchers for the exact amount through the post today. Also £13.50 from clubcard
Wondering about rejoining tesco diets using clubcard vouchers.... hmmm
Had lovely fruit smoothy for breakfast - apple, kiwi, grapes, black berries, blue berries, banana and low fat live yoghurt Yummy - wasn't hungry all morning - took it to work in a flask and drank bits of it in stages...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

well it has been a fraught week - worked - had a massive backlog - ended up doing extra hours today to try and get on top of things as was finding so stressful
went to hospital for a test yesterday - for that thing I don't need surgery but will need long term physio
had day off and went shopping after - bought some high heeled purple shoes to go with a dress I bought last Saturday plus a new swimsuit to help me get back to the gym and a little red shrug. I am feeling very unfeminine with all the gynae type appointments I am having at the moment - so probably over compensating. OH and I had our valentine's meal early last night
feel very down. Started a whole load of new medication today which could have all sorts of weird side effects. Found out that the extreme pain in my arm - is because they did damage a nerve when they put a canula in in hospital - and they ignored all my concerns about my arm swelling - so have been referred for physio for that too. Had to also book a blood test while I was there and will be having monthly injections from here on in... Its a lot to get your head around all at once!
Just hope that things start to improve again from here on in.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Oh SH, hope you start to feel better soon. You've had a bit of a bad time of it lately. Don't try and do too much though, as you need to keep your job, and these days even genuine illnesses are frowned on and absence policies are about the absence not managing the illness. You'll know that better than me.

Hi Milann
Yep have to focus on keeping job housework comes way down the list after family and food LOL
Today my arm hurt quite a bit - but not had any nasty side effects from medication - in fact the hot flushes and temperature of the last week seem to have gone now I've changed tablets again so hopefully that's good.
Managed to get my hair done - then came and picked DS up and we went shopping - bought some lingerie for me (that I had reserved the other day) from M&S using £8 in vouchers towards them - and bought some pjs from primark for £9 for me and a zip up hoodie for DS for £12. Also got him an £11 shirt from TKMaxx so he was delighted. DD came home with new clothes from MILs so I think it is fair enough...
Had smoothie for breakfast/lunch and had chinese and popcorn for tea! Not the best start to my diet but there you go! Hopefully we might do better tomorrow!
Picked up a new light from argos the other day for about £70 it is called Tangled Spiral and OH put it up today - it looks absolutely beautiful and looks perfect in the room. Its like a piece of art in its own right to me!
Had to nip to Asda to pick up a prescription and ended up doing my weekly shop! Hopefully now at least we have a better chance of staying on track with the diet as I have the right sort of food in!
Had more energy today so pleased about that at least. We had a family film night hence chinese and popcorn LOL.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Yup - its s lot to get your head around when things start going wrong - hope the injections work for you.
I ended up anaemic last year and realised I must have been like it for ages - luckily iron tablets did it for me but ended up with loads of gynae appointments and probes and cameras and biopsies - he frightened me silly with talk of cancer and the threat of surgery. Luckily all was well and it was just a case of HRT doing the trick for me. It took a while to get in my system properly, but I feel so much better now - but my blood pressure and weight are creeping up - gp threatened to take me off hrt next time if no improvement but consultant says he's happy for me to be on hrt longer term and to contact him if gp tries to take me off. I feel so good I want to stay on them so am trying to loose weight and exercise more - thus keeping bp and weight under control. I can't honestly just blame the hrt with weight gain - it's me putting big portions, chocolate and cakes in my mouth!!!!!
Once the medication kicks in you should feel better and manage work, it's worrying when you have to keep having time off, especially since you haven't been there too long - how long is it now?

Hi Milann
Been there about 10 months now...
Struggled thro today - did work - and took kids to cinema - but felt really rough all day. Time of the month came round even tho on tablets to try and stop it! So that was a bit of a shock - and was pretty bad one too - despite taking tablets all day to try and reduce it! Argh!!!!!
Still coming to terms with everything. Had injection Friday that is supposed to trigger mini menopause and stuff and started hrt - but got all the emotions to do with that to deal with too as still very young
Friend took me out for lunch tho which did help - Hopefully things will pick up soon and I can then also get back on track money wise... We are being propped up at the mo by the money I put aside for fixing the car.... otherwise we would be within our allowed overdraft! I am on target to pay £2.6K off within a month - but to be honest - that is largely offsetting the £3K we borrowed in Jan when we just didn't seem to be coping.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Big hugs SavingH. It sounds like a terrible time for you at the moment. I can't imagine what you are going through but hope that all your health problems start to get a bit better.

Thanks for your post CMD - yeah it is still tough. Been hard work today - cried at work. Some insensitive **** said I looked like I was pregnant in my top - was I etc and went on and on convinced that I was! I went away and cried - and then collared her and told her how insensitive she had been and how she needed to think before she spoke. Didn't obviously share all my medical stuff with her but for goodness sake - you never tell someone they look pregnant unless you are really sure they are!!
I think if my periods do disappear like they are meant to - things should pick up soon, perhaps even by the end of the week.
I have also started my diet this week and have done a weightloss ticker - so far so good:j
If OH gets his pension refund - then that will make life easier as will be debt free other than student loan and mortgage and may even be able to plan for getting new kitchen. I fancy the ikea red one...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
