Well I've seen my GP she doesn't want to change my tablets or anything - but does want to see me again in 4 weeks. She wants to see if how I felt a couple of weeks ago was just a blip or if it continues. Problem is I am on maximum dose of my tablets - and usually they work - so she doesn't want to mess with them if she can help it....
She has just said the usual things of have a good diet, exercise more, plan nice things - and for my time of the month week in particular get OH to step up more and be kinder to myself...
She is a lovely GP tho and spent about 20 minutes with me....
Off to work shortly, come home for a coffee and chocolate first tho...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Glad you got on well at the GP. She sounds lovely. Fingers crossed it is a bit of a blip and things will get back on track for you soon. How is work going for you?
Not sure what to advise but as the GP said, I usually find if I have nice things planned it keeps me feeling positive.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Thanks CMD - hope you are okay too
Work in principle is going well - it is all within my capability. I just had a workload spike within a couple of weeks of starting which would have probably floored anyone plus a backlog to deal with. I was given some extra help to try and get things up-to-date and right now things are calming down. Most of the people I work with are absolutely lovely - there is just one who seems able to push all my buttons - but heigh ho she pushes everyone else's buttons too.
I think I scared myself with how bad I felt out of nowhere the other week and have sometimes had that wading through treacle feeling since. Hopefully things will calm down and get easier...
I am going to JLS in 2 weeks at Warwick Castle - I can't wait! Then about 2 weeks or so after that I have a week's holiday in a lovely cottage so I have given myself some things to look forward to, I am hoping that will help my mood and disposition!
Bye for now or I will be very late for work! (its flexi so laid back but even so....)Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well yesterday I picked cherries from the garden and red currants. It was one of the first years that I've got to our cherries before the birds! Yum! I also bought a small lettuce and tomato planter from B&Q for £3 in the sale so hopefully we will have free lettuce for a few weeks now as it is the cut and come again sort I think! I also bought a yellow bush rose to brighten up my front garden and replace a different sort of bush that had died there... Hope this one survives there. I got some of those twirly stakes too to add into my garden for a clematis I bought a month or two ago plus some more for some honey suckle and clematis in my back garden. Spent £33 in total but I have now added garden spends into my budget so don't feel too guilty about that. I think it is another one of those spends where the money will be spent a couple of month of the year and will just average out to a less than £10 a month spend over the year.
Today I have given myself some time off from church to have a lie in, and now hopefully get the house a bit straighter... Still struggling so thought some time alone without the kids would be good.
Really hope next week is a better one.
I have booked on a student training night so will get my colours done for £20 in about 10 days time.... for about £20. If I wanted a cut as well it would be £15. I thought I'd see how they were at colouring before commiting to a cut tho... Unfortunately I think a lot of my hair is now grey so can't get away without colouring it for as long as I used to so just trying to find a cheaper way of getting it done. I've never been very coordinated so can't picture myself ever doing it and as far as I know all my friends either get it done professionally or don't bother at all.
DD is going to a party today. I think I have an action man in a box still somewhere so need to find it, get her to wrap it and then get her to make him a card.
Oh well that is all for now - lots of sorting and decluttering to do.... Think if we did manage to get on top of the house more that that would help my mental health.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I wish we could have a cleaner. It's the one thing I would kill for.

Hi Lucielle - we pay about £23 a week for a cleaner.... she takes the edge off, there's still loads she doesn't do but at least it saves arguments about toilet cleaning and cleaning the kitchen floor!
Well I am trying to catch up on the washing today and have a marathon cooking session. I hope if we can pre-plan and even cook some meals that it will help on a money and a diet front.
DS is desperate to earn some cash so he has agreed to mow the front and back lawns for £2! Bless. OH is happy with that plan.
DD is still at her party - she made the card - and we found an action man in a box that she could give as a pressie!
Oh well better get back to my cooking. I am doing a quorn korma for OH at the moment...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

My lot take it in turns to do the lawns and they are on a weekly rota for the cat and hens. If they are really short of dosh they will clean the bathrooms.

Sounds like you have them well trained Lucielle!
My son is brilliant at helping, my DD mostly avoids helping but she is 7. OH generally avoids helping.
He had the nerve to have a go at me tonight for asking for a coffee - I pointed out that him emptying the bins, picking up DD from a party and giving her a brief shower did not equal the fact that I had cooked dinner and tea plus enough food for at least 3 days this afternoon. On top of that I had also done 3 lots of washing, taken DD to the party and taken and picked up DS from youth group. I had also nipped to the shop for an hour to get some essentials. Oh and packed, unpacked, packed the dishwasher.
Is it any wonder I feel like a stress head at the moment! He thinks it is okay that I have done 5 or 6 hours housework today to his less than 1 hour (including kiddie duties)!!!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Have explained to OH again why I don't feel it is a fair division of labour and he has now apologised. He says he feels as rubbish as I do at the mo, hates his job etc but feels trapped due to the economy and powerless to change... I have also been talking this weekend about putting us all on a diet which he resented but agrees it is a good idea really.
Have pointed out I need him to take on a fair share of the housework load...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
