    hi imd and cmd

Still really enjoying my new job. I get flexi time and can vary my start and finish time which really helps!

Sorry not been on as much lately - we are trying to be more sociable so have less time now for computing!

We went to a "supper club" at church and had a fantastic 3 course meal with some people we knew really well and some we hardly knew at all. It went really well and we had a great time. It was in aid of charity so just a donation.... I am really tired today tho!

Good for you, it's great to be sociable. I think it puts a very positive spin on life when you can get out and about. How is the debt busting going?

    Hi guys

well we went away for the weekend to my parents. We went to a medieval fair and my DS got to paddle a coracle! DD and DS also rolled bees wax candles. On Sunday we went to a National Trust property and had walk around its grounds again seeing lots of deer and other wild life.

Yesterday it was back to the grindstone but it still was a good day.

Should get paid at the end of the week so intend to tackle debts then. However have spent about £156 on OH this week revamping his wardrobe

    1 t-shirt asda £6
    1 shorts M&S £30
1 pair walking sandles £24 half price in sale
    1 shirt market £8
    I shirt 20% off BHS £14
    3 shirts Tesco £10 each
    1 shorts tesco £14
    1 shorts tesco £14
1 pair of jeans £6 tesco
    5 pairs of trainer socks £10 M&S

    - what he was wearing was terrible partly because he had put on weight. So have so far packed one suitcase of clothes that are currently too small but that he could have back if he lost weight and filled 5 carrier bags with stuff to give away! More to do... Need to go to work tho really!

Know what you mean about grocery shopping SH - I have crept up of late - take aways before we went away when we had food in freezer and I've been very lax on the lunch front. Sooo.... I'm having a storecupboard/freezer couple of weeks until next payday (stocked up on fruit and veg yesterday - might need a bit more though) - that will help me re-coup a bit of cash spent on holiday.

I ended up taking dh to Matalan and bought him a load of new clothes the rainy day we had on holiday as I suddenly realised his smalls were getting smaller (mmmm - or could he be getting bigger LOL - and they were theadbear), I revamped his tee-shirts, a couple of shirts and shorts - he looks half respectable now again LOL - he hates shopping and I have to pick my moments - bought myself TWO pairs of shoes on holiday too ... and a top - yes - I must get back into good habits again - cc bill will be NASTY this month - but I WILL pay it off as I promised to do - my fault and I'll pay the price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Socialising sounds good - a lot of people I work with go to supper events with their where they share the meal by taking a course each on some rota scheme - a party of 6 each time I think - sounds a really good evening by all accounts.

Glad the job is still going good.

hi Milann - yeah some of OH's stuff was completely faded, out of shape etc so not exactly helping him.

Supper clubs are a good thing I think....... I am wondering about going on the women and home (magazine) forum as I think they do supper clubs too... Just trying to break out of our little ruts.

We are definitely spending too much at the moment.... My only excuse is that we have been pretty good for ages and money has been extremely tight but at some point you have to replace your worn out things and start to live a bit more again...

    Hi SavingH!

I am doing brutal with the money saving at the moment. I went on to the Debenhams website and bought loads of things in the sale for Max. In my defence I am trying to build up a wardrobe for him until he is 2 years old so everytime there is a Debenhams or Next sale I buy stuff for him.

    Hi SavingH!

I'm starting to get a grip on my finances again. This month I have to be very strict to start next pay month on straight and narrow. I can't afford to mess up!

Last month for me was definitely about excuses ,that I deserved to do this and that though I couldn't really afford it and now I'm paying for it.

Hi guys - nice to come back to lots of replies. Hope you are all doing well.

Yeah I have had excuse after excuse for spending money and have been reducing my time spent on mse stuff but my bank balance reflects that... hmmm difficult one. This month I wanted to pay one card off in full but that is going to be hard as we just paid 2 lots of car tax and my car is having its service and mot next week. We can meet the minimums but wanted to pay it off... Don't know whether we will pay it off or whether we will transfer some of it... Seem to be going backwards at the moment!

I need to "get back with the programme". Having said that tomorrow we are planning to go to Chirk castle and get the most out of our new NT membership. Trying to get fit and healthy and get out of our little rut... Just need to make sure don't spend too much on snacks while we are there.

I got paid today and OH got paid early so our bank is briefly happy. It is all more than accounted for tho....

I got wii fit plus for my birthday - thanks for the belated wishes jellie - and we have started using that the last couple of days. Hope that will also help us get on and stay on a fitness kick. If we do go to Chirk castle tomorrow it will be the third weekend in a row we have used our NT membership - and each time we have done lots of walking (by our standards anyway) so hopefully we will start to see a positive impact.

Bye for now - I will try and catch up on other people's diaries over the weekend
