hi gill nice to hear from you again.... yeah it was nice to do something a bit different.
We have a norah jones concert coming up soon and then about a month later it will be jls - should be great!
Well today - I took the kids to youth group - and then afterwards we set up the fire pit again - very therapeutic and relaxing.... love playing with fire LOL
DS is away Mon-Fri next week at a camp and DD is away Tues to Fri with MIL. Then OH is away for a long weekend on his motorbike trip with a friend so it will be a weird week next week.
DD has a school trip on one of the days I was planning to take her out of school so not sure what to do now. We were going to stay over at the marriott as a couple and leave DD with MIL and DS with a friend.... now not sure what to do! May just move the marriott thing to later in the year as I think she will be gutted if she misses the school trip.... Unless BZ fancies stepping in...... or MIL agrees to stay over which I know she is not keen on.....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well took DS to buy a phone today - picked one up for £2.45 from phones4u - unbelieveable. Had to top up £10 - but with that he got 300 free texts from V to use within June. He had to pay cos he had lost yet another phone!
We also picked up a DVD from Mr As for DD and I was overcharged - so went back and got a refund of the difference £2.29. I did pick up the only DVD on the shelf with the special sticker on lol!
DS had his friend around most of us today but had a nice family time watching cloudy with a chance of meatballs.... I don't think I would want to watch it again but the 7 year old loved it (she had watched it before) and DS seemed happy enough... Also watched Dr Who.... I haven't got into the new Dr Who the same... he comes across a bit "wet" to me which I don't like.... Just doesn't seem to have the right energy level....
DS is going away on a trip and needed his hair cutting.... ended up giving him a no 5 with hair trimmers as strangly couldn't get anyone to do it for him at 5pm!! LOL. Saved me at least a tenner tho...
It rained here most of today which was a shame as I was hoping to do my garden. I did do some stuff in the garden with DD Friday night which was something at least. Church are doing a barbie tomorrow so hopefully that's lunch sorted....
Hope you all have a great bank holiday weekend!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi SH
have to agree with you on the new Doctor Who, I can't quite get into it the same. Not sure if its him or the fact that Russel T Davies is no longer chief writer. I don't actually care what happens in any episode.

It was a bit breezy but we had the barbie. DD got invited out to play for 3 hours - result LOL! DShas been taught how to use the washing machine as he is going away tomorrow and seems to have been "saving up" his dirty washing ROFL. He is not going to be one of those kids who goes off at 18 to uni or wherever saying duh I don't know how to cook, wash etc as he will have well and truly mastered those skills!
I spent 3 hours in the garden this afternoon. My apple tree is now planted and I have dug up an acer which was in the wrong place.... now need to find a good place for it. I lurveeeeeeee acers. I think they are so pretty. Strangely I am really tired from all that unaccustomed exercise but I haven't finished yet... need to pot a few things up at least until I decide where to put them... Still have bedding plants to put in too. Hopefully I can do more this week with the kids away but of course it is weather dependent....
I don't know how other people are getting on but I seem to be spending way too much on groceries again.... Really must find a way to cut back...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi SH, sounds like a lovely day you've had!
I'm with you on the groceries. Despite my best efforts, there is always one thing I've forgot which necessitates a trip to the supermarket resulting in a £10-30 spend.
I used to buy loads of organic, but have stopped that, so for me the answer is to do a once a week shop and no more. Of course, that's easier said than done
Enjoy the rest of your Bank Hol0 -
hi macgirl - yeah it has been a great day. I have transplanted my acer - it is now in the shady left of my garden rather than the sunny right.... Played with my fire pit again, Also watered in the apple tree.....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
