Well I nipped into town and got a key cut for our cleaner - along with an extra spare for us. While I was there I nipped into BHS and bought a dress for when I go back to work. Its a long one - but at least it should be cool, comfortable and decent LOL. It looked quite nice on (considering my recent weight gain). I think an 18 would have been a perfect fit but decided to go with the 16 which is an ok fit as I am hoping to lose weight in earnest over the coming weeks and don't want it to be too big before I've even worn it! I was really pleased tho as I went to the till expecting it to be £30 - but it turned out there was an offer on it and I got it for £21. I used map my run on my phone - and just my little walk around town was 0.8 miles so better than nothing.
Tonight OH and I are planning to go for a long walk (about 4 miles) to a local pub - have a drink or whatever and come back as part of our date night. We're going to have tea at home first tho. Tomorrow I am hoping to go and visit my sis and cheer her up... just hope the drive doesn't prove too much. I'd rather know now tho than when I'm back at work! I have a delivery from Mr A coming tomorrow but after the kids get home so even if I'm late back it should be okay. Friday am I see Occ Health and hopefully agree a plan for returning to work.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Not sure they leave deliveries if there is nobody over 18 to sign for it. Could be worth checking out.

Hi Lucielle - in theory you are correct but DS is tall for his age and has been in before and they haven't quibbled so - I'll aim to be home anyway but should be okay.
Well my cleaner has just been - she can do 2.5 hours in future which would be better as that would give her more time to do lounge etc... Her other fortnightly client is pregnant so she thinks longer term she may be able to clean weekly for me.
I just got rung up and offered a temporary job for a company I used to work for. Very tempting but would destabilise our finances. I've said if they could cope with say 7 hours a week and not all of it had to be on site I could perhaps do it on top of my current job using flexi leave etc but not if they needed much more than that.... They've gone away to think thro exactly what they need and will then come back to me... Chances are they will get someone else instead. It was tempting tho - as when I worked for them I was on a third more than I am now... If I could get it as a consultancy deal on a day rate then that would be great....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Consultancy deal sounds like a good option. Especially if the rate is better. Do they need the time all in one chunk? Or could you do it in a couple of separate stints.
That would really help with the way you want to move forward.

Hi Gill - they are going to come back to me after they've had a think. It would be fab if I could get some consultancy - would really help us financially and give me some official business for my new company. Even if nothing comes of it it was a massive morale boost....
Well DD sang in a peace concert today and we all went to watch. It was good. Then came back for a bit before going out with OH for a drink. Now about to finish my book but had a headache all day.... Think it is from not sleeping... Hope it goes away soon!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi Milann and Aiming High
Milann - I've been off about 8 weeks since the op and one week before so about 9 weeks altogether. I'm coming down with a cold tho now as haven't slept well this week and the kids were all snuffly yesterday and they passed it straight on to me! Yes I've worked out what I'd need as a day rate if they did offer me anything... but not sure I could get my current boss's approval for time off so will wait and see if anything happens. I secretly have lots of stuff from when I worked for them before so wouldn't need to redo everything from scratch which would therefore make it all far more doable...
Aiming High - thanks for reading... I still do woohoo, Boots offers, quidco and now recently am doing spud shillings with McCains too..... Hope you are enjoying the £10 a day challenge
Well I got up late and went and took my sis out for a meal... Harv£st3r - yummy!! On the way home - I got a phonecall from DS who had locked himself out (and DD)!! Luckily I was only 10 mins from home and Mr A hasn't delivered yet. My sis has suggested that I take one of the tablets (that was helping me sleep) every other day to reduce withdrawal (ie current not sleeping)... 'So I'm going to try that tonight... hoping I actually sleep and can then shift this cold.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I'm still reading the £10 a day challenge. I'm probably making that on eBay, but I'm not counting it at the moment (i.e. in sig line etc). As for savings from spending....I'm just not spending. :rotfl:
Kids are helping though, my eldest brought me her DS to sell last night as she doesn't use it. Bless her, they want new converse though so some will have to be spent on them soon. That and Christmas/Birthdays (all my 3 girls have birthdays near Christmas)
I need to look at my food shopping though and while I'm a skin flint around asda I still don't list or meal plan. You have to start to finish.
