    Hi SH
just trying to catch up. A bit horrified that at cost of AC stuff - fairly sure that when DS was in Sea Cadets, that the uniform was provided. Or maybe they had a scheme? I can't remember now.

Don't do too much, you're meant to be recuperating from major surgery. I know these days its not *quite* so major, but it is still surgery, it is still a shock to your system.

Hi - Gill I am trying not to over do it - but not easy!

The uniform is provided but DS has grown inches this summer so has grown out of his trainers - which he needs for camp, school and the gym - so not just buying it for the camp. He doesn't own jogging pants as we live in what he deems chav central and he doesn't want to look like one :rotfl:So had to buy him one for that - the rucksacks are for camp and school so dual purpose.

He still needs waterproofs but will see if I can borrow them if I can't find any anywhere round the house.

We bought some new crockery yesterday - 30 place settings for £90 - not bad. Red and white porcelain from Mr As. Going to a church fun day later.... they are planning a bric a brac stall so hoping to offload our old crockery and various books, toys and clothes from DD's room

I've been to a fun day Saturday, a church picnic yesterday and someone's 40th tonight! Why do all the social things happen at once!! We are having a meal with friends Thursday..... I kept having to go to bed and have a nap after being out tho.... I am reading my way thro all Nora Roberts 190 books ROFL with a little help from Amazon and my back library....

Hi guys - hope you are having a great summer.

Well the 40th was okay... I would have been embarassed if it was mine tho... not my cup of tea at all... She didn't even have cake!! We got rung up just as we were about to set off to go and pick someone up in another town so that added to the stress and sense of disorganisation. We got some food to take with us and I made the mistake of briefly pushing a trolley - which I paid for pain wise later... Luckily don't seem to have done more damage than that.... I also did a bit of walking while I was there - possibly too much. Still a bit more painful than average today tho. I cut the elastic at the top on both sides of a pair of knickers last night so it wasn't pressing on my scar... Still struggling to find comfortable underwear!!

My boss rang me today to see how I was doing and when I was likely to be back... She's going to come and see me next week - need to get people to tidy up for me then LOL I think she was a bit disappointed I wasn't well enough yet to return - bless. Told her the date of my consultant's appointment - told her I was unlikely to return before that...

Both my kids are home at the moment... trying to get them to do stuff is hard! DD is about to do some bindeez... Try to persuade DS he wants a shower and to put a load of washing on... and that's before we get to dinner....

    Hi SavingH,

Sounds like you were overdoing things. Try to take it easier.

I also have to take it easy for the rest of this pregnancy (doctors orders due to a gynaecological issue) and am finding it difficult, especially as OH is hobbling around on crutches and we have a lively 17 month old!

Your children sound really good at housework (generally). Did they have a nice school break?

Hi CMD - well you'd better rest too then - protect your new little one.... Yeah overall my kids are good apart from when they're not LOL

I've just rung a cleaning service and asked about setting up a regular cleaning service and getting them to do a deep clean of upto 6 hours for the first one.... so that will be good. She is looking through their books to see who they have who is available... Hopefully if they can start quickly they might even clean my house before my boss comes!!! It felt like a load off my mind as soon as I'd spoken to her tho so I think that shows it was the right thing to do!! DS has agreed he doesn't want to do the cleaning any more... I gave him an ultimatum clean this week or I am giving the job to someone else... It may even save me money as the lady on the phone reckoned if we did a deep clean at the beginning - it should be doable within a couple of hours which means even with the agency fee I could end up paying less than before. They do allow half hours so we'll see what the cleaner thinks when they come for an interview....

My OH and I have been rowing more this year - I think really in some ways its because we no longer had a regular cleaner so we picked up the slack - and I felt it was picked up unequally!! ie more me than him.... He naturally disagrees altho I think while I've been recovering from my illness he's found out more of what I do and how long it takes.... Like the shopping, driving kids round etc... Rather than just the washing and things he was more aware of. TBH I just bought colour run sheets and get DS mainly to do the washing.... He has been a trooper... He needs £10-20 for his trip's spending money next week which I will give him... We also ideally need to find him some good quality socks so he doesn't get unnecessary blisters.... A bit hard with me being unable to drive.. May check out the buses unless OH agrees to do a little shop run on Friday...

DS also needs dropping off 2 miles away on Friday pm - need to work out how we will do that... will it be OH working from home or do I need to get someone else. I'm borrowing waterproofs from a friend so also need to find time to pick them up...

I am also trying to plan out my new business.... partly to stop me doing the physical things that need doing round the house that I'm not meant to touch... ie distraction!

Hi guys - well I was in quite a lot of pain last night so definitely have been overdoing it... Tried to take it easier today but I have run out of new books so rather bored... Lack concentration to think of stuff for my business right now too....

Might sit in the garden soon...on my nice swing seat... but need to find a book from somewhere and a cardigan first... DD is back with MIL but she cried her eyes out about going... I've said she can be at home next week as DS is away so they won't be fighting with each other - and OH is off Monday...

I've got a friend visiting tomorrow which should be nice.... Then I am interviewing and showing round a cleaner - so got DS to vacuum the front room today... Then we are going out for tea leaving DS behind.... LOL Then Friday he goes away to camp and DD comes back.... We've also been invited to someone's leaving party at a pub on Friday for a meal but I think I've overdone it this week so think it would be better not to.... Will see how it goes... OH is out tonight for a few hours at the cinema.... so need to think what DS and I will have for tea...

Really would like a soup.... but don't fancy peeling all the vegetables....

Also need someone to pick plums from tree or they will be past their best....

Still wondering what foodprocessor to get - still want one and then could perhaps start juicing again and get healthy again... Have really put on weight the last few weeks....

    Take it easy SH ;)

Cleaner sounds fantastic - I wish I could bring myself to think about getting one, but I couldn't accept paying for one and would spend my time cleaning getting ready for one - LOL- somehow I think I'd get more stressed having one. I stayed a dd's a while ago and it was just like the 'fairies' had been when we walked back into the house after her visit. But dd works full time and is on rather a lot more money then I am!!

When do yours go back to school - I'm back on 5th followed by children on 7th. It has gone so quickly this year.
    January spends - £587.58

I think my son goes back a day or so before DD

A cleaner would be fab.... I'm planning to have a deep clean ie every room (perhaps missing my study LOL) in the house as her starting point... and then hopefully 2 hours or so a week... But it will be fab if I get my windows cleaned, the corners sorted etc all the bits that the males in my house miss ie because they don't move furniture etc....

Have rested more today... although I got DS to get the soup pan down and did make a gorgeous soup... Trying to persuade OH he really wants to make us chicken korma and rice but he seems unimpressed that we've not fed ourselves despite telling me off for doing too much yesterday and the other days of the week.... I don't get him sometimes.... He's come in a right grump box
