    Hello everyone,

Thanks for the welcome backs. It makes me feel like part of another big, happy family all over again.

Well I promised an update so here goes:-

I'll start with the good news:-

My little boy is now fully toilet trained so I no longer buy pull up pants and nappies and I have also found I am using far less baby wipes so am saving at least £40 a month on these - yippeeee!

We have a savings policy which matures at the end of next month so at the end of Sep we are on course to receive a lovely payout of approx £20k all of which my hubby has agreed will go towards the mortgage. Maybe finally this paying off the mortgage early thing is rubbing off.

We are now overpaying our mortgage by £700 each month.

Whilst I was away from MSE I won a dishwasher in a competition from supersavvyme which is worth £250 so will be adveryising this for sale asap in order to get some cash for it (unfortunately we had just bought a new dishwasher as our old one went wrong so we do not need it)

I've sold approximately £20 of cards in the time I have been away.

I've signed up to become a cardmaker at CraftsUprint and earn money from clicks.

I've recently become a designer at www.card-making-downloads.com and have sold my first few sheets to earn £1.20 in commission - every little helps - its along term plan - thats what I keep telling myself.

OK all good news above but here comes the bad bits:-

Sadly the village magazine I used to deliver and sell advertising space for is currently not being published so I am currently not earning my £50 delivering money or any commission on any advertising which I could have sold.

Whilst going through my relationship problems I yurned back to my crafting to keep me from going insane and starting buying all the magazines and craft items I used too so have not been saving any money on these for several months.

Everything is about to change again though as I am back on the MFW bandwagon and ready to pay it off asap.

To show my commitments back, today I have done the following:-

    Little

    1. Sent away for 4 free teabag samples
    2. Sent away for a free cereal bar (I can just taste it now - yum)
    3. Sent away for shampoo & conditioner samples
    4. Entered 3 competitions
    5. Wrote 2 600 point reviews on DooYoo

    Large

    1. Returned unused hair straightners to Argos for refund of £39.99
    2. Doubled up Tesco vouchers to buy daughters new uniform for school (saving £40)

    Cash Added To Pot Today

£10.67 - £10 found in old purse found whilst sorting out wardrobe and 67p loose change from OH

OK now to set tomorrows and weekly challenges (I shall leave the monthly challenge until the beginning of Sept)

Challenge for 24th August 2010 - Add affilate links onto my blog to gain cashback through clicks

Challenge for W/c 23rd August 2010 - Return at least £30 of items back to QVC for refunds and make 10 cards ready to sell at toddler groups

Its great to be back xx

  • Hello Craftingmad

Chin up and stick at it! We all have our weaknesses (mine takes the form of biscuits and chocolate which wreaks a different sort of havoc), so try and be kind to yourself for a few days, 'specially if you;re feeling poorly.

I'd love to read your blog... can you post a link?

  • Hi everyone,

Sorry have been so busy over the last few days trying to make the most of the last few days of the holidays before the kids go back to school & nursery.

Queen-Bee my new blog can be found at http://ilovecraftychallenges.blogspot.com/ as I had trouble with my previous one (this old blog address can be found somewhere near the start of this thread I think). I'd love you to have a read so I don't think I'm talking to myself each day.

Don't worry been doing lots of small steps to still achieving my goal to becoming MF in 5 years so will update you again very soon.

However for all of you who would like to help me I have a little favour to ask - I have started entering challenges on the net (one to build my confidence in my papercrafting skills, two to try and use up what supplies I have and stop me buying anymore and three 'cos they are so much fun (if you read my blog mentioned above you will see my entries). Voting has now started on the card-making-downloads challenge which I entered with my Milly Swing card so if any of you would like to vote for me it really would be greatefully appreciated (last time I looked I was in joint second place so thats not so bad is it?).

Happy MF and crafting everyone xxx
