Hi mfd’s thanks I will take a look at that. The cruise to nowhere is because I really couldn’t find anything the week of our 25th anniversary in the uk that wasn’t very expensive or not what I fancied, so it’s a double jabbed only, test first, don’t get off cruise 😆 my thinking was it wouldn’t get cancelled. We have a balcony so it will be just eating and relaxing and it’s a company we have not used before (princ@ss).Hi daisy thanks for popping by, the house is very quiet now ☹️We have an electrician here today, trying to sort the power to the log cabin and hopefully stop the heating coming on randomly all the time. So no electric which also means no main bathroom today. I’ve just upped my mobile data so I can use the iPad plenty today as I’ve lots to catch up on online before we go away Monday and we are busy this weekend.I need to do a LOT of juggling as I have booked two holidays this week (not including a hotel for Monday night) the first is a weekend in c@ntreparcs for bonfire weekend this year with ds2and fiancee, and the second was a very spur of the moment thing yesterday when I got a brochure through the door! I’ve booked an autumn 2023 package flying to Canada, three nights in Niagara, one night in New York and then a New England cruise for a week, with possibility to add nights at the end, including all flights/hotels and transfers and drinks inclusive cruise plus a free balcony upgrade it was £2199 each which I thought was a lot but good value.I hate flying though and have not flown for more than a couple of hours on the last 25 years 😱 oh well it’s done now!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁1

That sounds like a fab trip NG, and very good value!
Maybe do some research on how to improve the flight for you? You've got some time beforehand - relaxation techniques, visualisations etc.
Hope the electrician manages to solve the problems!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Thanks Vix, you are right as I can’t get up from my seat on a plane and I may need to use the loo 😂
Electrician said it’s the hot tub tripping out as the pump is (possibly) broken, it’s only tripping the shed though but dh needs that, I think he’s coming back at some point as the heating is still random 😩 we do have a new fuse box thingy though.
Dh has taken on a massive lot of private work, I’m not happy as he’s disappearing in the early hours -1am this morning I’m not kidding! As far as I know he doesn’t have another wife and family 😂 ds2 is joining him at 6am to help. This is so he can get ahead as he’s got the week off as we are away. I think it’s proving my point the only way to get him to stop is to book breaks, at the moment it’s nothing I can help with either.Off to my parents today for the first roast dinner for at least a couple of years, I think it may be partly to celebrate our 25th? Best friend popped round yesterday and gave us a lovely present, one of those new style ‘Polaroid’ cameras, a case, an album and a stack of film for it 😍 we have to take it away and fill it with photos while we are away, so sweet!Lots to do today, book parking for trip, print everything off, do nhs app thing, paint nails, clean fridge out and buy bit of food to leave ds1 before he’s off to reading festival Wednesday.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3 -
Those new Polaroids are so trendy, all I can think of when I hear of them is the heya song by outkast lol!
1am is actually criminal!
Hope you are bossing your busy weekend! (And shaking it like a Polaroid picture)4 -
Love that song! Reminds me of nights in the basement room of one of the clubs at Uni 😍Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I love that song too! Not sure I’m shaking anything this weekend except the Polaroid pictures 😆 Have done most the printing out and logging on to go away. Currently exhausted and not on the best of terms with dh, par for the course before we go away really 😁

No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Pretty sure if you don't have a major fall out right as you're going away then it's not going to be a good holiday.
@SouthCoast sammmmme I miss those days and don't at the same time. Like love a good boogie but also love my bed.2 -
Thanks Ladywithaplan, I will bear that in mind, hopefully we can easily extend the flights 😬
KP, we have had some belters over the years, the early days were the worst bickering while loading our old Ford galaxy with the all the kids, one year going in convoy with my parents they drove by to see how we were doing and my mum asked if dh would go with my dad so she could come with me when she saw us 😂
We are both so desperate to go away I’m sure we will be fine 😁
Food spends including petrol are currently at under £250 so far this month, this is unheard of! The £500 budget needs to last until 5th sept but we are away for some of that, I’ll leave ds2 my cc as the fridge is empty and they are staying a couple of days.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁2 -
Thanks SC and KP, I've had Outkast in my head since I read this first thing this morning!
NG, I hope you have a lovely time and an excellent anniversary!
(I can definitely relate to the loading the car arguments between my parents - usually at 3 or 4 am as my dad always insisted that we 'had to beat the traffic' - my mum is not a morning person!! 😂)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
