What was the horror movie??1

It was m@lignant KP 😬
We have a quiet weekend here this week, I’m waiting in today for a coat to be delivered from n@xt I’ve ordered for mums 70th next week and ds1 is out most of the weekend and he is the only one left for the moment. I tidied the garden yesterday so need to go to the tip now and after the coat arrives I might go and get a few winter pansies to fill my now empty pots. It’s dds engagement party next Saturday at the pub round the corner and I want the garden looking ok incase it spills over later to ours, it finishes at 6pm apparently but I would have thought it will carry on until late knowing the kids 😆
Dh is still doing research around getting a second hand gearbox for the bmw, although we both wouldn’t mind a newer (electric is my preference) car, we both have reservations over spending so much money on one or spending less on a car that’s not electric. Im out of practice buying cars but as a comparison we had a brand new Hyundai i30 in 2009 which cost £7995 today that car model is over £22k that seems quite a jump 😱 so repair seems the less painful option for us at the moment.£180.05 spent on food since the 6th sept, £10 a day until today that works out, which is not too bad, a bit of that was toiletries ordered from sup@redrug on offer to get £2 bonus from topcashback 😆MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁2 -
I don’t blame you re car costs. Some friends of ours recently ordered a brand new Audi Q5… we couldn’t fathom (as you can imagine!) why, if they were spending that much, they didn’t get an electric Q4 (DH spec’ed it on website and was £10k cheaper).
If you repair the old car with a second hand gear box, think of all the embodied carbon you’re saving - even if electric, new cars have an environmental cost (justification for my old car!)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Hi Vix, I have considered that, but only as you say to make myself feel better about not having an eco friendly car 😆 unless very wealthy I can’t really understand why people spend as much as they do on having the latest type of expensive car- my parents being the worse at upgrading after a couple of years to an identical car in a different colour but the all important newer plate 😩 But why you wouldn’t go for hybrid or electric now on a luxury car is a bit strange, speed wise it will wipe the floor with petrol or diesel anyway!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3

I think in a few years the second hand electric/hybrid car market will be a lot better. I got my (petrol) car this year for £5k, but I don't know how much cars are at the moment.
I hope your mum likes the coat!3 -
They are just so expensive even for a small car ☹️I’ve had to go to bed early with some g@viscon, unfortunately I came across an Uber eats email saying I could get £15 off my first order, so for some unown reason I decided (as we had already had lunch 🤦🏼♀️) to get some f@rrero rocher pancakes for dh and cookie dough and ice cream for me delivered 😆 it was rather nice I have to say, but I’m feeling it now! Financially it was a bargain £2.84 instead of £17.84 - crazy prices!I’ve also ordered a perfume gift set for dd for Xmas (@lien) which worked out cheaper than just a bottle on its own after a bit of research and ordered 2x half price then 10% off electric toothbrushes for ds1 and dh £34 for both delivered from sup@rdrug. Most presents will be stuff they have asked for like records or a bit of chocolate or cash but I do like to get a couple of surprises, although perhaps toothbrushes won’t be that thrilling 😂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3

I love getting useful gifts so I'm sure they will too!
(I think I would have done the same thing regarding the ice-cream, in fact hand on heart I have eaten ice cream citing that my heart burn is really bad and it'll cool me down)2 -
😆 I guess it depends how much you eat!Where has this week gone, it’s been a busy one! It’s dds engagement party tomorrow so I’ve been cleaning like mad all day incase it carries on after the pub here. I’ve also made over the bathroom as the walls were terrible so I redecorated and bought some new plants and a mirror.Dh has just returned from getting diesel - I know I do feel a bit bad joining the queue but we were empty and so is the beetle and he needs to collect and return his parents for the party tomorrow, the electric van only has two seats so we couldn’t use that either. Queues were bad apparently, not sure what this means for our trip to York next week, will have to see if things calm down a bit, I shall not fill up the beetle until things go back to normal as we don’t need it.Some rather bad news this evening, a teenager was stabbed and taken off in an air ambulance round the corner, a pupil at mine and the kids secondary school walking home, very shocking and apparently not attacked by another pupil, scary stuff and my friends son saw some of the commotion, he’s only in year 8 ☹️MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3

Hope the engagement party went well ❤
How awful about the stabbing, such a scary world we live in 😔Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!3 -
I don't think it's wrong to join the queues if you need the fuel. I suspect that the queues will be short lived.
It's heart breaking when these things happen close to home. Suddenly it's so real.3
