You have a fire place in centreparks? There's special wood to burn?
2 -
Hi Kp, yes there is a fire there and we have never used one as I’m too tight to buy the logs from the on site shop and I always forget to pack some 😆 I think I have the “right” sort after googling it, can’t remember as we have not been since about 2014!Forgot to check in yesterday as I was out in the evening with dd on a bridesmaid shoe buying errand, which turned into a Nando’s thus hitting my budget with a £32.20 dent 😬 very nice it was though and only the second time I’ve ever been. Today I took great aunt to the garden centre (she paid for tea and toast hooray!) while I set up her new mobile which to an absolute age, then I bought is both a candle each in the Xmas shop there (£3.50 total) then £18.45 on diesel and a french stick for us all for lunch, the net result is there is only £15.39 left until Mondays weekly budget of £140 starts again. It should be ok really as dh is working all weekend and the most I shall do is go for a walk and buy a top up shop perhaps of bread and fruit. We have a doggie sleepover tonight, the kids partners’ dog is staying over from their house as their other sister is away and had not been well recently (it’s her dog really) she really cute, a little scrappy looking small black thing, well she’s cute until she see any other dog and then she goes crazy, it’s so embarrassing as she really well behaved in every other way 😂 I think I’ll just keep walking a few steps behind!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3

Diesel is an interesting a complement to a French stick I have to say!
Urgh bridesmaid shoes. Hope it went well but it's bringing back bad memories!2 -
😆 yes I’m guess so! The bridesmaid shoes were just prefer after we spotted them popping into new look, so not too tricky thankfully.NSD today that’s about it for tonight 😁MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁1

Very busy today as Dh has taken on a large private job, it will boost the company account a bit but it’s a vast amount to get through in a short time frame, so the living room is overtaken with boxes and I’ve spent about fourteen hours today and done approx one and a half boxes from the 36 odd boxes there are to do 😱 luckily he is also paying a colleague to help out as who is more experienced and can work a lot quicker than both of us! Tomorrow I shall be taking a break to do a food shop though as my back is killing me already working non stop and I’m not used to hard work any more 😆
The first week of the £20 a day challenge went well, with what would have been £15.39 left had I not ordered some waterproof walking boots as mine have been leaking 🙄 cheaper on qvc than elsewhere and the option to pay in three monthly instalments which I have gone for. So £59.95 and £4.95 postage (£24.95 this months payment) So I’m starting the week tomorrow with £130.44.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4 -

Oh my goodness it’s been so long 😱 thanks for popping in MMP, I’m fine and not quite putting the trees up yet 😆🌲
KP, we did get the job done thank you, it was a nightmare and took me very long days and nights sitting on a hard chair which has caused some unpleasant issues as well 😂 sorry if tmi! It’s been a bit busy here really lately, this weekend we went to centreparcs with ds2 and fiancée which went well (her first time) and they had the Xmas lights up everywhere which I was not expecting so that was a bonus and very pretty, we came back this evening as she has uni tomorrow. I think I spent under £200 while there and we did table tennis, swimming, pedaloes and she did aerial tree tracking with zip wire, plus we had lunch at Bella Italia as well as a top up shop for a few bits I forgot 🤦🏼♀️In bed now and exhausted! Tomorrow I shall be doing some washing as well as cleaning the house as ds1 stayed home and judging by the recycling bin had a few thousand people over for drinks while we were away 😆 he has “tidied” but in his own special way, which does not usually involve a Hoover or mop.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3 -
Sounds a lovely trip NG. Shame about the cleaning though! 😀Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!2 -
Sounds like you had a great time at Centerparcs NG!
Might I suggest that now DS1 is an adult, you gently introduce him to the hoover and mop if he's having people round while you're away. It's only fair that if he makes the mess he cleans it up properly (even if it's not completely to your standards - which I get it might not be). I'm sure you're giving him a good deal on rent, so it would be reasonable in exchange!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
